Tarafder officially withdrew his candidature from the hot seat of BFF president at a press conference held on February 17.
After three weeks, Tarafder has returned to BFF election scenario to compete in any post as well as have a chance to lead a panel. Bangladesh Football Clubs Association (BFCA) informed these after its meeting at Hotel Fars in the capital on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Tarafder Ruhul Amin said, “We will form a strong panel for the election. But, which post I will compete, it will depend on the decision and approval of the Clubs Association and Districts and Divisional Association.
”More than 50 clubs representative were present in the day’s meeting.”
BFF vice president and director in charge of Brothers Union Club Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi said, “It is the high time to raise our voice to save our football. I have been working with Salahuddin-led committee for last four years. I saw many faults and anomalies in their activities and I myself alongside Badal Da (Badal Roy) and Aslam Bhai protested it on many occasions, we want to work collectively in future.”
General Secretary of the Uttar Baridhara Club Jahnagir Alam said, “We want to see football in a good position, who has the capability to do something good for football, he should come forward and we are with them.”
Abu Hasan Chowdhury, vice president of Badda Jagaroni Club, said, “We are ready to challenge Salahuddin, we hope we will win.”
President of the Nababpur KC Alimuzzaman Alam said, “We have president candidate also. We won’t leave any post vacant.”
Besides Premier League, championship league, senior division and junior division clubs organizers and legendary players like Zakaria Pintu, Hasanuzzaman Khan Bablu, Sheikh Aslam, Imtiaz Sultan Jony, Kaiser Hamid and many others were present at the function, conducted by former BFF member and BCFA Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan.
In the day’s meeting, the BCFA has formed a 21 member committee with Tarafder Ruhul Amin as convenor.
However, a general meeting of Bangladesh Districts and Divisional Football Organisers Association will be held very soon ahead of the ensuing BFF election scheduled for April 20.
