“It’s really good to have tours of emerging team. It’ll help us find out our bench strength. We’ll play the Asia Cup soon. So this tour is very important for the players we have in the squad,” Anju told the media on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
In the emerging team, 4-5 girls got the chance for the first or second time. According to the coach, this tour will be a good opportunity for the new girls to prove their mettle for the national team.
“We’ve finished a camp in Rajshahi and we also had an eye in the premier league, and we also had an eye in the premier league. Before finalising the 14-member, we’d shortlisted 28 girls. I hope they’ll do well in South Africa,” she further added.
Bangladesh emerging team will play three ODIs and as many as T20 matches against their South African counterparts.
The ODIs will take place on July 23, 25 and 28 while the T20s will be held on July 28, August 1 and 4.
