Dhaka, Sept 17 (UNB) – A 31-member Bangladesh U-16 Football Team reached Qatar capital Doha Monday evening (8.30pm) to participate in the Group E matches of the AFC U-16 Championship’2020 Qualifiers beginning on Wednesday (Sept 18) at Aspire Dome Indoor Stadium in Doha.
In the opening Group E match, Bangladesh will play hosts Qatar on Wednesday at 10 pm (Bangladesh time).
Bangladesh Team, which is staying at hotel Holiday Inn in Doha, participated in the manager’ s meeting and addressed a pre-match press conference Tuesday morning at Aspire Dome Indoor Stadium in Doha.
Bangladesh, which was put in Group E of the AFC Junior meet along with Yemen, Qatar and Bhutan, will play Bhutan on Friday (Sept 20) at 7 pm (BDST) and Yemen on Sunday (Sept 22) at 7 pm (BDST) in the remaining group match, all at the Aspire Dome in Doha.
Addressing the press conference on Tuesday, Head Coach of Bangladesh Robert Martin Ryles said “We have a good preparation for the tournament over the last couple of months. The boys gained valuable experiences of playing competitive international matches in the SAFF U-15 Championship last month and team is ready for the AFC Qualifiers”.
“Our main objective to gain more valuable experience, play game-by-game to qualify for the AFC U-16 Championship next year,” he further said.
