Dhaka, May 7 (UNB) – A book titled ‘Art Against Genocide, the first such publication of its kind depicting the miseries of Rohingya people, will be launched here on Tuesday.
Liberation War Museum and Cosmos Foundation are jointly organising the launching ceremony at the main auditorium of the Museum in Agargaon area at 4 pm.
Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman will attend the launch event as the chief guest.
Cosmos Books, in association with Cosmos Foundation, published the book featuring 29 artworks of 19 Bangladeshi artists, including master painter Shahabuddin Ahmed.
The other artists whose artworks accommodated in the book are Kalidas Karmakar, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa, Tanbir Sarwar Rana, Sourav Chowdhury, Pradip Shaha, Mahbubar Rahman Chowdhury, Nabendu Shaha Nabo, Asif Quader Siddky, Jashim Uddin, Al Amin Islam Rownak, Jayonta Malo, Imran Uddin Imran, Mery Chakma, Sanjoy Sarkar Akkoy, Juel Chakma, Urmi Hawladar, Saimum Reza, and Achinto Shaha Roy. The artworks were contributed by Gallery Cosmos and Cox’s Bazar Art Club.
The book - Art Against Genocide – is a culmination of a Cosmos Dialogue held late last year on Rohingya crises right after the height of mass exodus of Rohingya people from Myanmar’s Rakhine since August, 2017.
