Honor Watch 4 Review: Is it worth buying?
With the Honor Watch 4, its company entered the realm of budget-friendly square smartwatches. Departing from the fitness-centric design of its predecessor, the Honor Watch 4 embraces a more sophisticated aesthetic look, drawing inspiration from reputed smartwatches such as Apple Watch, Fitbit Versa, etc. This device aims to combine affordability with an array of features typically found in higher-priced smartwatches. Let’s take a look into what the Honor Watch 4 offers.
Key features and specs of Honor Watch 4
Design
The Honor Watch 4, boasts a redesigned and modern appearance with a rectangular aluminum dial featuring rounded and polished edges. The 1.75-inch screen is responsive to touch, and a single button on the side facilitates easy operation.
Weighing only 32g and measuring 11.2mm in thickness, the watch is very light, making it comfortable for continuous wear, even during sleep. Activating the display is a simple light press, and navigating through apps and functions is intuitive using the touchscreen.
The watch gets charged with a magnetic base featuring two contacts. The standard 20mm silicone straps are soft and secure, fastening with a buckle for added safety. The watch offers water resistance up to a depth of 50 meters with an IP68 and 5 ATM rating. It is also dustproof.

Dial replacement is straightforward, and compatibility with other models ensures customization options for users.
The Honor Watch 4 is available in two dial finishes: gold with a beige wristband or traditional black with a black strap.
Display
The Honor Watch 4 is equipped with an impressive AMOLED panel that delivers a visually appealing display. The screen, with a resolution of 390 by 450 pixels and a pixel density of 340 PPI, offers over 300 different watch faces accessible through a simple press on the screen.

Despite Honor's claim of having an always-on display function, the reviewer encountered difficulty activating it. However, the wrist-turn gesture can be used to activate the display quickly, and the screen timeout can be extended to 5 minutes.
The speaker on the Honor Watch 4 is notably powerful, supporting Bluetooth calling with a built-in microphone. While not ideal for prolonged conversations, it effectively allows users to answer calls promptly. The watch provides notifications through sound and vibration, but it cannot interact by responding to pre-created messages.
Performance
The Honor Watch 4 incorporates a micro-optical lens array of sensors to monitor key health metrics, including stress, blood oxygen level, heart rate, respiration, and sleep quality. While some measurements are taken over time for health tracking, on-demand functions are not always available, such as the inability to take an electrocardiogram (ECG) when desired.
The watch features an intuitive interface for quick access to settings and notifications through simple scrolling gestures. The ring management system serves as a daily motivator, encouraging physical activity with step and exercise goals.

Honor 90 Lite Review: Performance within Budget
The Shenzhen based consumer electronics company Honor was founded in 2013 as a sub-brand of Huawei. The brand was sold to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd in November 2020. Honor phones are popular for good features with reasonable pricings. In this wave, Honor has released 90 Lite. Let’s take a look tinto the key specs, pros, cons and price of Honor 90 Lite phone.
Key Features of Honor 90 Lite
Design
The Honor 90 Lite boasts a sleek design, measuring 162.9 mm by 74.5 mm by 7.5 mm and weighing a mere 179g. Its flat sides and large, low-bezel screen provide a generic yet practical front, while the distinctive shimmer of its Black, Silver, or Cyan back panel, coupled with cropped-circle camera bumps, adds a unique touch.
The device features a plastic back with a subtle shine, resembling a fusion of glass and metal. The phone's matte frame houses a USB-C port at the base, a power button/fingerprint scanner combo, and a volume rocker on the right side. On the left, the SIM card tray accommodates dual Nano-SIM cards but lacks SD card support.

The mono speaker, located next to the USB-C port, can be easily covered during gaming, affecting audio quality. Regrettably, the absence of a headphone jack further diminishes audio options, marking sound as one of the 90 Lite's weaker aspects.
Despite a relatively slender 7.48mm profile, the phone's flat frame, without curved edges, provides a sturdy grip. Notably, Honor has streamlined the packaging, omitting a charger and case but including a pre-fitted screen protector and charging cable.
Display
The Honor 90 Lite features a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, showcasing slim bezels on three sides and a noticeable chin below the screen. The Wide Full HD resolution and 19.9:9 aspect ratio deliver sharp visuals at 1080 by 2388 pixels, providing an immersive viewing experience.

While lacking the deep blacks of OLED panels, the LCD technology offers respectable viewing angles. The smooth 90Hz refresh rate enhances overall display performance. However, the phone's brightness may be insufficient in extremely sunny conditions.
Cameras
The Honor 90 Lite comes equipped with a triple camera setup featuring a 100 MP main lens with an f/1.9 aperture, a 5 MP (f/2.2) ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP (f/2.4) macro lens, accompanied by a depth-sensing lens.
The main lens performs well in optimal lighting conditions, capturing vibrant and sharp photos. However, night mode tends to introduce excessive blurring, and the camera struggles in less-than-ideal lighting.

Notably, the 2 MP macro lens surprisingly produces good quality photos, showcasing detail in close-up shots. The zoom capability, though, falls short, resulting in blurred and less sharp images. Portrait mode works effectively, creating a pleasing separation between the subject and background.
The selfie camera, at 16 MP (f/2.5), delivers satisfactory results for its price, but lacks the sharpness of higher-end models. While the main lens stands out, there's room for improvement in the overall quality across all lenses.
Performance and Hardware
The Honor 90 Lite delivers solid performance with its 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 5G chip 7nm. The phone operates smoothly without freezing or stuttering, meeting expectations for its price range. The mid-range Dimensity processor performs well for everyday tasks, but users may experience limitations with more graphically demanding applications like heavy gaming.

However, in its price range, Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro offers better performance with Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (4 nm) chipset.
The phone's unique feature, Honor RAM Turbo, allows for the expansion of RAM by allocating GB from the ROM memory, enhancing multitasking capabilities. Benchmark tests reveal performance similar to the Samsung Galaxy A14, although charging speed is slightly slower. When compared to its higher-end counterpart, the Honor 90, the pricier model excels in graphics tests but has a shorter battery life.
Software
The Honor 90 Lite operates on Android 13, overlaid with the Magic UI 7.1 layer, which bears a striking resemblance to Huawei's OS, given their historical association. Notably, Honor maintains full compatibility with Google services, a crucial aspect for users.

The device comes with a set of pre-installed apps, including some peculiar games and Honor's own applications in the MyHonor section. The interface is visually pleasing, characterized by vibrant colors and simplicity. Users have the flexibility to uninstall any unwanted apps. Google's applications replace those pre-installed, though users can choose to install them manually.
The device features "Honor Share," reliable file sharing with compatible devices. The launcher is straightforward, with all installed apps appearing on a single home screen. Honor commits to three years of security updates and confirms two years of Android updates, ensuring reasonable software support for the Honor 90 Lite.
Battery and Charger
The Honor 90 Lite offers a 4,500 mAh battery coupled with a 35W fast-charging capability, though it doesn't include a charging brick in the box. To maximize the fast charging feature, users need to purchase a separate 35W-rated charger.

Testing the charging speed, the phone reached 29% in 15 minutes and 57% in 30 minutes, aligning well with average expectations for its price range. Despite the lack of an included charger, the Honor 90 Lite's charging times are deemed acceptable, providing a substantial battery boost in just 30 minutes.
Pros and Cons of Honor 90 Lite
Pros
- Main camera captures standard quality photos- Decent display - Good storage capacity.
Cons
- Limited zoom functionality with subpar results- Lack of 4K video recording capability- Secondary cameras exhibit room for improvement- Absence of a charger in the packaging.

Price of Honor Lite 90
The Honor 90 Lite is not officially sold in Bangladesh. However, in Malaysia, the cost for the 8GB+256GB version is RM 1,099.00, which is equivalent to BDT 25,899. To put it simply, the exchange rate is RM 1 = BDT 23.57.
Verdict
The Honor 90 Lite emerges as a well-priced handset catering to budget-conscious users seeking competent performance. Despite some shortcomings, such as the lack of OLED and audio limitations, the phone excels with its versatile UI, capable processor, and impressive 100MP main camera.
On the whole, Honor 90 Lite is a standard budget-friendly phone for regular tasks.

Honor X6a Review: A minimalist budget-friendly phone with standard features
The journey of Honor as a smartphone brand started with their entry into the budget-friendly and mid-range smartphone market. Honor launched the X6a on 28th July 2023 in India. The Honor X6a comes as an update over last year’s Honor X6. Let’s have a detailed look into it.
Key Specifications of Honor X6a
Design and Build Quality
The design of the Honor X6a is quite minimal. The device has a plastic frame and back with a glass front. The sensors protrude from the back panel. The frosted finish on the Cyan Lake variant refracts light which gives the smartphone its unique look. Those looking for an even more minimal option, the Midnight Black can be an option with a matte black finish.
Dimension-wise, the X6a comes in at 163.32 x 75.07 x 8.35 mm with 188 g of weight. The smartphone comes with standard ports and button choices including a headphone jack and a dedicated micro SDXC slot. The power button on the X6a doubles as the fingerprint scanner. The front of the device has a water-drop notch display with a sizable chin at the bottom. Being an ultra-budget smartphone, the large chin isn’t entirely unfounded.
Overall the flat style design with frosted finish adds a new dimension to the X6a.

The Display
The display on the Honor X6a is a 6.56-inch TFT LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The panel has a 720 x 1612 pixel layout with 260 ppi. However, the most distinctive feature of the display is the 90 Hz refresh rate. It’s great to see even ultra-budget smartphones are offering faster refresh rate displays.
The panel also supports up to 16.7 M colors. It has a slightly different aspect ratio at 20.15:9. It can be due to the large chin at the bottom which brings the screen-to-body ratio to around 83%. The multi-touch gesture support can accommodate up to 10 touch points at the same time.
Speaking of usability, the display looked great for a budget smartphone. The default color was a bit on the warm side but that can be easily calibrated from the settings. For anyone coming from a 60 Hz panel, the faster refresh rate would be easily noticeable.

The Camera
There is a triple camera setup on the X6a even though there are 4 distinct sensor housings on the back. One of the sensor spaces actually houses the flashlight which helps to bring that square symmetrical look at the back.
The main camera is a 50 MP f/1.8 wide-angle sensor with PDAF. The complementing camera modules are a 2 MP f/2.4 macro and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. In effect, the X6a is carried mostly by the main camera as the macro and depth sensors aren’t very useful in any way.
Being a budget smartphone, the camera on the X6a was quite impressive. The main camera was able to capture some great shots in daylight conditions. One of the key issues with budget-friendly smartphone cameras is the loss of dynamic range. However, the X6a did a good enough job of preserving it throughout every shot. The portrait shots also came out pretty well. There were slight edge detection issues at times which will hopefully be solved with a software update.

Honor X5 Plus Review: A decent budget-friendly phone
The Honor X series has been the brand’s entry-level and mid-range line of smartphones. The X series has always brought a compelling price-performance balance that has aided in its huge popularity. Honor launched X5 Plus in Bangladesh on 16th August 2023. Apart from the large screen, the Honor X5 Plus brings some exciting features. Let’s check them out.
Key Specifications of Honor X5 Plus
Design and Build Quality
The X5 Plus is sort of a semi-update to the X5 released earlier this year. As a result, the X5 Plus carries a lot of the design elements forward with several internal updates. There are subtle changes in the design on the X5 Plus with the back having a frosted glass hue. However, the back is still plastic which just looks like glass. The camera housing now has a refractive glossy finish which stands out in direct light. As for colors, users will be getting a choice of Cyan Lake or Midnight Black.
Dimension-wise the devices come in at around 163.32 mm by 75.07 mm by 8.35 mm with 188g of effective weight. The lightweight design and the rounded edges give an impressive hand feel to the device. The device has all the ports and buttons in their usual place. Except for the sim slot which is placed at the top of the device. Apart from the two stand-by nano sims, there is a dedicated micro SDXC slot as well. It’s a useful addition considering the internal storage is only 64 GB.

The power button on the right also doubles as the fingerprint scanner on the X5 Plus. There is also the usual bottom-firing speaker, Type C port, and the ever-disappearing 3.5 mm headphone jack at the bottom of the device. Being an entry-level smartphone, there is a noticeable chin at the bottom of the smartphone. Other than that, the X5 Plus is a well-built solid device that will withstand heavy and rough usage.
The Display
The display on the X5 Plus is a 6.56-inch TFT LCD panel with HD+ configuration. The resolution stands at 720 by 1612 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 269 ppi density. The slightly larger display on the X5 Plus allows for the screen-to-body ratio to be bumped up to 84.3%.
As mentioned before, the front chin stands out as an eyesore in 2023. But given the ultra-budget positioning of the X5 Plus, it only makes sense that Honor had to cut corners.

However, it's not all gloomy with the display. Even as a TFT panel, the screen showed good contrast and balance. The blacks weren’t completely washed out and there wasn’t also any noticeable blue tint. What’s even better is that users will be getting a 90 Hz refresh rate on the X5 Plus.
It’s not a great display by any means. But for its price, it doesn’t get any better than this.
The Camera
There is a dual camera module on the X5 Plus. The main camera is a 50 MP f/1.8 wide-angle shooter with PDAF. There is no OIS and EIS for stabilization. Pictures during the daytime came out pretty well. There were good details in the images with post-processing color pop. The boosted colors rendered a better result as the color reproduction was almost always on point. However, the camera failed to replicate the same in shades or under artificial lights. The dynamic range was also average with passable details.
Read more: vivo V29e 5G Review: Is this mid-range phone rightly priced?
The story continues the same in low light conditions as well. There were noticeable noises in the pictures and most shots came out softer than one would like. The shutter speed on the night mode is pretty slow. But if one can keep a steady hand, the images would come out far better than they usually do.
There is an additional 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. It aids a bit in the portrait shot but nothing other than that.
The front-facing 5 MP shooter can be considered generic at best.
Videography is rated at 1080P at 30 fps. But without any form of stabilization, the results aren’t really passable per se.

Honor X8a Review: Is it a value for money smartphone?
Ever since its inception in 2013, Honor maintained a track record of producing affordable, value-for-money smartphones that disrupted the entry-level to mid-range smartphone market. While it was initially a subsidiary of Huawei, Honor is now owned by a state-owned enterprise under the control of the Shenzhen municipal government. Earlier this year, Honor released the X8a on 11th February 2023 in the global market. Let’s find out the key specs, pros, cons and price of Honor X8a.
Key Features of Honor X8a
Design and Build Quality
There isn’t much going on with the design of the Honor X8a given that it's a budget-friendly smartphone. Users will be getting a plastic device with a glass front. The frame and the back of the device have a matte finish which gives it a stealthy look. The rounded square camera housing and the punch-hole display with a minimal bottom bezel render an overall minimal look to the device.
Dimension-wise, the device comes in at 162.9 mm by 74.5 mm by 7.48 mm with 179 g weight. The relatively compact form factor coupled with the plastic build helps to keep the weight under 200 g.

There is also a small Honor branding on the back bottom of the device. The narrow chin at the bottom allows for an 89.6% screen-to-body ratio.
The fingerprint scanner and the power button are positioned in their usual place. The power button also doubles as the fingerprint scanner on the X8a. This device doesn’t have a micro SDXC slot. It also lacks the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Overall, the design and the build quality of the X8a are nothing out of the ordinary.
The Display
The display on the Honor X8a is a 6.7-inch LTPS LCD panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. LCDs have their limitations and the X8a isn’t free from them. The panel can capture 16.7 million colors.
Read more: Xiaomi 14 Pro Review: What’s special about it?
The unusual 19.9:9 aspect ratio has 2388 by 1080 pixels with 391 ppi density. The content on the display looks relatively sharp with standard color balance. Its outdoor visibility feature lacks dedicated HBM.
The Camera
The main selling point of the Honor X8a is its 100 MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture. To be fair, the 100 MP resolution brings increased sharpness and overall great contrast to the images. The subject in focus had great details with the right amount of background separation. However, it somewhat lacked in terms of dynamic range. It asserts the fact that only megapixel count isn’t enough, the quality of the sensor also matters. Regardless, the pictures taken with the main camera in daylight came out pretty well.
The sensor struggled a bit in low light conditions There were noticeable exposure issues here and there at times. The main camera is accompanied by a 5 MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro shooter. The ultrawide sensor can take some decent shots during the daytime but its performance significantly drops in low-light conditions. Videography on the Honor X8a is limited to 1080p at 30 fps. This is mostly due to the low processing power of the device.

There is a 16 MP f/2.5 selfie camera on board the Honor X8a. This generic selfie shooter is good enough for casual selfies.
Honor Pad X9 Review: Is it worth buying?
Pad X9 is a recently rolled-out tablet by the Honor brand that aims to make smart and feature-oriented smartphones, tablets and wearables. The devices under Honor X series are slim and lightweight with a lot of features. And, Pad X9 is no exception. Let’s take a look into the key specs, price, pros and cons of the Honor Pad X9.
Key Features of Honor Pad X9
Design
The HONOR Pad X9 boasts a premium look and feel. It has a sleek design with flat sides for a modern touch. The minimal branding and single-color finish keep it stylish. This tablet has a 267.3 x 167.4 x 6.9 mm dimension and weighs 495 grams, which might be a tad heavy for children. However, it's advisable to get a protective case to prevent scratches and make it easier to prop up on a flat surface.
The size of the HONOR Pad X9 is just right for everyday use. It's compact enough for school or work and spacious enough for entertainment and multitasking. The tablet's flat sides ensure comfortable use for extended periods without hand or arm discomfort. Despite the aluminum frame, it offers a non-slip grip, making it suitable for long gaming sessions.

In terms of ports and buttons, you'll find a volume rocker and power button on top (in landscape mode). There are two speakers on each side along with a USB Type-C port. Additionally, there's a set of dual speakers on the bottom. However, it lacks a fingerprint reader, though it can recognize faces using the front-facing camera.
Display
The HONOR Pad X9 features a spacious 11.5-inch TFT LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels, providing 203 pixels per inch (PPI). While it's not the sharpest display in its size category, it offers good value for its affordable price. The lower resolution is beneficial for tasks like reading, web browsing, and gaming, especially considering its midrange chipset, which consumes less power with the lower pixel count.
The display delivers impressive visuals for videos and images, with vibrant colors. However, it falls short in terms of brightness, reaching a peak of 400 nits. This brightness is adequate for indoor use but may struggle in direct sunlight or very bright environments. Nevertheless, this brightness level is in line with other devices in a similar price range.

Honor Pad 8 Review: A budget-friendly capable Tablet
Honor had a distinct history of providing affordable yet capable gadgets back when it was part of Huawei. Fast forward to 2023, Honor is now owned by a Shenzhen-based state-controlled enterprise. But the value proposition of Honor as a utility-focused, cost-effective brand remains. Last year the company launched the Honor Pad 8 on 22nd July. It’s a mid-range tab aimed to be a budget-friendly alternative to higher-end Android tabs. So how does it fare compared to other Android tabs? And does it compare in any way with the iPad? Let’s find out.
Key Specifications of Honor Pad 8
Design and Build Quality
The designs of pads in general are more or less the same across the spectrum. Just like the Honor Pad 7, the Pad 8 also has a rectangular design with thin bezels and a camera on the side. The front is made from glass whereas the frame and the back are made from plastic.
Dimension-wise the Honor Pad is 278.54 mm by 174.06 mm by 6.9 mm with 520 gm of effective weight with the battery. The pad is on the lighter side considering its dimensions. The even weight distribution adds a layer of comfort to the user experience of the device.
Read more: Apple iPhone 15 Plus Review: What are the major upgrades?
There is no SIM support on the Honor Pad 8. Meaning users would have to depend on Wi-Fi only for connectivity. Another drawback of the Pad 8 is the lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Even in 2023, a headphone jack in tabs is a pretty common sight. However, the Pad 8 is missing out on one. The lack of a headphone jack is complemented by 8 speakers all around the device. Users will get a surround sound stereo experience with the pad.
The power and volume buttons are situated on the right of the device. There aren’t any external ports on the device other than the Type C port as the device doesn’t support micro SDXC as well.
The Display
The display on the Honor Pad 8 is a 12-inch LCD panel. Two distinct things stand out the most the moment you look at the panel. And that’s the thin bezels and their symmetric distribution. The bezels are 7.2 mm thick on the left and right end giving it a reminiscent look of the new iPads and the Tab S from Samsung.
Read more: Xiaomi Mi Pad 5: An Ideal Tablet to Replace iPad
The 12-inch display has 1.07 B color support with 1200 by 2000 pixels of resolution and an impressive 84.5% screen-to-body ratio. The 5:9 aspect ratio makes for 194 ppi density. Even though the pixel density is on the lower end, the aspect ratio makes it a clear and crisp display. Users would have to squint to spot individual pixels on the Pad 8. The typical brightness of the Pad 8 reaches up to 350 nits. There’s no dedicated HBM mode on the pad so it might be a bit difficult to navigate the display under bright and direct sunlight.
The pad also supports Widevine L1 for HD streaming OTT content. The sharp resolution and large panel make it an impressive media consumption device. Unfortunately, the Pad 8 doesn’t come with a high refresh rate panel. Users are stuck with a 60 Hz refresh rate on the display.
The Camera
There’s not much going on with the camera on the Honor Pad 8. This isn’t just a case with the Pad 8. Rather tabs in general do not focus on the camera end as smartphones are leading the charge in the photography department.

The Honor Pad 8 has two cameras – one on the front and one on the back. Both the shooters are 5 MP with the exact same spec at f/2.2 aperture, 27mm (wide), 1/5", and 1.12µm sensor size.
The back camera can shoot video up to 1080P at 30 fps. As a bonus, the back camera has autofocus. That’s about it when it comes to the camera spec on the Pad 8.
In terms of performance, the Pad 8 can take some generic shots. These are, by no means, even comparable to entry-level smartphones. It’s more suited for a quick scan of documents or video calls.

Processor and Performance
The Honor Pad 8 is powered by Snapdragon 680 based on the 4 Nm chipset. The octa-core processor has a 4 A73 2.4GHz and 4 A53 1.9GHz chip design. The processor is coupled with Adreno 610 GPU.
On paper, the 680 is a lower mid-range processor from Snapdragon. So it would be a bit extreme to expect gaming-level performance from the Pad 8. Even then, the device was able to run all the leading 3D game titles like PUBG, Asphalt 9, and COD with moderate graphics settings. However, there were slight stutters and frame drops here and there. The Pad did a good job at heat management. The device didn’t excessively heat up even after an hour of continued gaming.
The Pad 8 comes with Android 12 onboard with Magic UI 6.1. The OS has been customized to suit Pad usability with iPad OS-like design. There’s a dock on the home screen with the recently used app list. The device also supports a split screen with two apps and an additional floating app. So in effect, users will be able to use up to three apps at the same time. It’s an impressive feature given the limited processing power of the Pad 8.
Read more: Xiaomi Redmi Pad Review: Budget Tablet Worth Consideration
Overall, the performance of the Pad 8 is more than satisfactory. The tab is geared to be a utility device for day-to-day tasks like reading, split screen use, casual browsing and media consumption.
Battery and Charge Time
The Honor Pad 8 comes with a 7250 mAh battery on board. The battery is coupled with 22.5W fast charging. With a full charge, the device can last around 10 to 100 hours of continued use. The higher battery performance is partly due to the Wi-Fi-only connectivity on the device.
Pros and Cons of Honor Pad 8 Tab
Pros:
· Large bright display
· Lightweight design
· Utility-focused OS customization
· Long battery life
· Decent front camera for video calls.

Cons:
· Only Wi-Fi connectivity
· No expandable storage
Price of Honor Pad 8 Tab
The 4/128 GB variant of the Honor Pad 8 is officially available in India. The price of the Pad 8 is 17,999 INR which roughly amounts to 23,684 BDT (1 INR = 1.32 BDT). However, the official price differs in Bangladesh due to several regulations like import duty and local tax.
Final Words
The Honor's latest tablet Pad 8 is the perfect mid-range tab that brings a good balance of performance and price. It brings a great display, processor, and battery on board. The plastic build of the device might be a letdown but it’s an understandable trade-off considering the price and overall performance. On the whole, Honor Pad 8 can not compete with the high-end tabs from Honor or other brands. But this Tablet makes a niche of its own as an efficient and affordable option.

Honor 90 Review: A New Standard in Midrange Aesthetics
Renowned for its commitment to cutting-edge technology and stylish design, Honor has consistently captured the attention of tech enthusiasts. The Honor 90 is the newest addition to the brand. Although the phone was released on June 07 in China, it will be launched officially in India on September 15, 2023. Our comprehensive review aims to determine whether the Honor 90 truly embodies the ideal all-in-one package.
Key Features of Honor 90
Design and Display
The Honor 90 smartphone comes with a striking design and an impressive display that steals the spotlight. The centerpiece is its attractive 6.7-inch 2664×1200 AMOLED display, evidence of where the bulk of the phone's investment has gone.
With a remarkable peak brightness of 1600 nits and vibrant color reproduction, the screen remains remarkably legible even under bright sunlight, rendering it perfect for on-the-go content consumption. The curved edges and minimal bezels contribute to an astounding 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, providing an immersive viewing experience.

One of the Honor 90's standout features is its 3840 Hz PWM dimming technology, designed to reduce eye strain and enhance viewing comfort. This, coupled with the phone's eye-comfort mode, gradually minimizing blue light emissions, underlines Honor's commitment to user well-being.
Despite the large display, the Honor 90 surprises with its manageable weight of just 183g, making one-handed usage remarkably effortless. However, the sole bottom-firing speaker can't match the audio experience of dual-firing setups.
On the design front, the camera module's peculiar arrangement has drawn mixed reactions, with two large circles adding a distinct flair. The available color options – Emerald Green, Midnight Black, Peacock Blue, and Diamond Silver – provide choices to suit various tastes.

Cameras
The camera capabilities of the Honor 90 have undergone a significant upgrade, complementing the phone's remarkable display. The standout feature is the impressive 200MP main sensor, a substantial leap from its predecessor's 58MP counterpart.
While the ultra-wide camera has transitioned to a 12MP sensor and the 2MP depth sensor remains unchanged, it's important to note that megapixels alone don't dictate photo quality, as evidenced by Google's Pixel 7a with a 64 MP main sensor.
Honor Magic5 Ultimate Review: What’s special about this flagship smartphone?
For a long time, Honor has been a sub-brand of Huawei and has released budget-friendly to mid-range Smartphones. But since its split from the parent company, Honor started to explore the premium segment. In this wave, the company launched the Honor Magic5 Ultimate on 6th March 2023 in Mainland China. Does the Magic5 Ultimate offer something more than the competitor flagship smartphones? Let’s take a look at the design elements, features, and price of Magic5 Ultimate.
Key Specifications of Honor Magic5 Ultimate
Design and Build Quality
The eco-leather textured back instantly gives Magic5 Ultimate a premium look and hand feel. The complete bezel-less design with sloping edges will need some getting used to.
Moving beyond, the camera house has been vertically flushed down to create a tapering design on the back. Honor is calling it the “Eye of Muse” design which frankly puts the device in its own class.

The camera housing itself isn’t a traditional round or rectangular one. Honor calls it their “Octagonal Porthole” design. These subtle yet substantiative changes make it the literal ultimate android in terms of design.
The device is sandwiched by an aluminum frame with a glass front. The port and buttons are the same as the Magic4 Ultimate. What’s good is that the device is rated at IP68 with 30 minutes of protection under 1.5 meters of water.
Its dimensions are 162.9mm by 76.7mm by 8.8 mm. Weighing about 217g the device appears lighter than the ancestor Magic4 Ultimate (242g). Being a flagship, users won't be getting any card slot or headphone jack.

Display
The experiments of Honor don’t just stop at the design. Magic5 Ultimate sports a 6.81-inch display featuring 1312P by 2848P resolution, 460 ppi, and 19.5:9 ratios.
Moving to the actual performance of the display, Honor has done an excellent job. The LTPO OLED panel has 1B color support, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The usual antics with good color calibration make it an excellent panel to use.
But the most striking excellence is seen outdoors. The 1800 nits HBM performs insanely well even under direct sunlight. Like its name, it almost feels like magic how legible it is under direct natural lights.

The device is practically bezel-less with curved edges. So even though the device might seem narrower, the display itself tapers much to the side.
Camera
The camera section of the Magic5 Ultimate has also gone through some significant changes. The module is now down to a triple camera sensor compared to the quad on the Magic4 Ultimate. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
This year all three sensors are 50 MP with a wide-angle main shooter, a periscope, and an ultrawide. Honor has enhanced the sensors to the latest Sony iterations making them more capable compared to their predecessors. There is also an additional TOF 3D sensor for depth mapping.

Moving onto the performance of the sensors, users will be surprised to know that Magic5 Ultimate currently holds the number 1 position in the DXOMark camera ranking. In the test, the camera consistently produced natural shots which is probably its biggest feature.
HONOR 70 5G Review: Is it worth high midrange price
The smartphone brand HONOR was formerly owned by the tech giant Huawei Technologies. In November 2020, Shenzhen Zhixin acquired the company. Honor produces smartphones mainly for young consumers. Honor has been trying to come back into the market. Its latest Honor 70 series debuted in China in September. Today we are going to review the Honor 70 5G. Let’s see what it offers.
Key Features of Honor 70 5G
Design
The Honor 70 has a fairly similar design to that of its ancestor Honor 50. It is also quite analogous to the design of some Huawei phones, like P50 Pro. The Honor had started working on its designs while the company was still a subsidiary of Huawei.
Nevertheless, it is a really attractive phone, with a low weight (178g) that makes it easy to hold. The design seems to be "striped" on the back of the device when illuminated in a certain manner. It is attractive to look at and has a pleasant texture. The triple camera sensors are all located inside the two camera circles on the back of the device.

Even though it's made of plastic, the phone's build quality and haptics are excellent. With a height of 161.4mm, a thickness of 7.91mm, and a width of 73.3mm, the Honor 70 looks pretty fashionable. Its small profile and long screen borders make it seem more "luxury" than it really is.
Honor supplies a transparent bumper cover that somewhat levels the protrusion with little impact on the aesthetic of the backplate. Thus, the typical trade-off between the bumper and the complete backplate design is not a concern.
The bumper also eliminates a possible problem with the backplate's slipperiness. This may lead it to fall to the ground, and be difficult to grasp for one-handed operation.

HDR10+ makes Honor 70 good for media enjoyment. However, the single-firing speaker at the bottom of the phone is a drawback. Unfortunately, its single-firing speaker doesn't offer very great quality. Its price tag falls under the higher mid-range or flagship killer levels. So lack of a stereo speaker can be a deal breaker.
Display
In terms of its display, the Honor 70 is not very impressive. Each side is curved, and the front camera hole is in the status bar's middle. It has a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display featuring full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolutions.
Camera
Honor 70 5G comes with a triple rear camera series. The primary camera on the back of the phone is a wide-angle, f/1.9 aperture Sony IMX800 sensor. A 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera joins this with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

However, there is no capability for an optical telephoto lens.
You can record 4K video at a frame rate of 30 fps, and there is a 10x digital zoom.
The front-facing camera is a punch-hole 32-megapixel f/2.4 device that can only record video in 1080p at 30 frames per second.
It's possible that some users may find it useful to be able to record video from both the front and the back cameras at the same time. Both of its front and rear cameras offer an EIS video stabilization feature.

The accumulation of all of this camera technology results in photographs that are pleasing to the eye in most circumstances. The images captured by the Honor 70 have a respectable degree of detail and natural contrast. In addition, when you zoom in on photos, you'll see that they haven't been overly processed, giving you more leeway when making modifications.
Performance and Software
The Honor 70 5G is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus processor, which is more than capable. This specific chipset is mind-blowing because of its power and its speed. It is very clear that this chipset is not a flagship model; nonetheless, the vast majority of users do not need such a model anyhow.
The graphic unit bears Adreno 642L GPU. The device runs on Magic UI 6.1 on top of Android 12 OS.

The internal storage is 128GB for the basic and 256GB for the upper variant. The processor offers more than enough speed. Because it has 8 gigabytes of RAM, applications launch swiftly, and the user interface is responsive.
Compared to Honor Magic 4 Pro, this phone sports a smoother and more natural feel in hand. In contrast to the previous iteration, navigation and camera applications don’t face any stuttering or other performance difficulties.
Honor 70 may chug somewhat while playing high-end games like Call of Duty Mobile. However, the speed is great for regular everyday smartphone usages, such as social networking, light games, music, and images.

Battery and Charger
Despite the fact that most modern smartphones have 5000mAh batteries, the Honor 70's 4800mAh battery does not hinder its performance. The phone features a huge, energy-hungry display, but its dynamic refresh rate and relatively small chipset allow it to last a whole day.
The Honor 70 has a 66W SuperCharge Charger. It charges to around 50% in 20 minutes, and a full charge takes less than an hour. Unfortunately, wireless charging is absent, which is a bit of a bummer considering that it's becoming increasingly prevalent in midrange smartphones.
Price of Honor 70 5G
The phone is not officially available in the Bangladesh market. Currently, it is available in China and the Western market. Honor 70 costs users £500, which is BDT 60,061. Here, the conversion rate here is 1 GBP = 120.12 BDT. However, the official price of Honor 70 5G in Bangladesh may vary due to diverse issues.

Conclusion
The Honor 70 in Crystal Silver is an attractive smartphone with a unique backplate design that is not marred by the included bumper. The 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display is excellent, and the grayscale option may appeal to a large audience. These days, fast charging is virtually a must, thus, it's great to have 66W supported here.
Negatives include a very subpar mono speaker and the absence of dust/water resistant certification, while the camera system, beyond the acceptable 54MP wide-angle primary camera, should provide more.
Overall, it's a beautiful phone with a decent design. However, the pricing of Honor 70 5G seems exorbitant. Consumers used to adore Huawei phones for their value-for-money features. Maybe pricing has become a challenge for the HONOR company after getting split up with Huawei.
