Dengue: 153 more patients hospitalised in 24 hrs
Another 153 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours till Tuesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among them, 107 patients were hospitalised in Dhaka while 46 in other places, it said.
As many as 516 dengue patients, including 430 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

On Sunday, this year's death toll from the mosquito-borne viral disease rose to 19 with one more death reported from Dhaka.
Among the total deaths, 10 were reported from Cox’s Bazar while nine from Dhaka.
On June 21, the DGHS reported the first death of the season from the viral disease.
This year, the DGHS has recorded 4,772 dengue cases and 4,237 recoveries so far.
Bangladesh reports another Covid death, 178 cases
Bangladesh reported another death from Covid-19 and 178 new cases in the 24 hours till Monday morning.
With the new numbers, the country's total fatalities rose to 29,316 while the caseload to 2,010,148, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case test positivity rate decreased to 3.15 per cent from Sunday’s 3.76 per cent as 5,656 samples were tested.

The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.46 per cent. The recovery rate rose to 97.21 per cent from Sunday's 97.20 per cent.
In July, the country reported 142 Covid-linked deaths and 31,422 cases, the highest monthly death toll and caseload since March this year.

Professor Flora of DGHS on life support
Additional Director General (Planning and Development) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, who became known to the nation providing the daily update on Covid-19, is currently on life support at the ICU of National University of Singapore Hospital (NUSH) after undergoing a surgery.
Prof Ahmedul Kabir, DGHS ADG (Administration) confirmed the matter to UNB on Sunday evening.

"She was admitted into the hospital due to suffering from abdominal pain and mild jaundice. She developed Pancreatitis after going through a surgery there. She has been shifted to the ICU for her health concerns," said Prof Ahmedul.
Flora was receiving treatment at the NUSH for over a week. Before that, she was admitted to Dhaka's United Hospital for the same reasons.

Dengue numbers keep rising: 98 new cases reported
Ninety-eight more people were hospitalised with dengue – a viral infection – in the 24 hours to Wednesday morning as cases have continued to increase in Bangladesh.
Seventy-seven new patients were admitted to the hospitals of Dhaka and 21 outside it, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Four hundred and fourteen dengue patients, including 346 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

This year's death toll from the mosquito-borne viral disease rose to 17 Tuesday with one more death reported from Dhaka.
On June 21, the DGHS reported the first death of the season from the viral disease. In July, it recorded 1,571 dengue cases and nine deaths.
This year, the directorate has recorded 4,081 dengue cases and 3,650 recoveries so far.

Bangladesh reported zero Covid death and 212 new cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
With the latest numbers, Bangladesh's total fatalities remained static at 29,314 while the caseload rose to 2,009,434, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case test positivity rate rose to 4.54 percent from Tuesday's 4.41 per cent as 4,666 samples were tested.

The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.46 per cent. The recovery rate rose to 97.17 per cent from Tuesday's 97.15 per cent.

The death toll from this season's floods in the country rose to 139 with another death in Rangpur in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
The total deaths were recorded from May 17 to August 15, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deceased, 78 were from Sylhet, 43 from Mymensingh, 17 from Rangpur and one from Dhaka division.

One hundred and eight people drowned in floodwaters, 18 died by lightning strikes, three from snake bites, one from diarrhoea, and nine others due to other reasons.
Around 33,186 people were hit by floods during the same period.
Thirty-seven upazilas, including 33 in Sylhet, three in Rangpur and one in Chattogram divisions were affected by floods.
Sylhet, Sunamganj and Moulvibazar were the worst-hit districts, with 13, 11 and five upazilas affected by floods respectively.
Dengue: 92 new patients hospitalised in 24 hrs
Another 92 dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among them, 73 patients were hospitalised in Dhaka while 19 in other places, it said.
As many as 369 dengue patients including 297 in the capital are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
Earlier on Sunday, this year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne viral disease rose to 15 with one more death reported from Cox’s Bazar.

Among the total deaths, 10 were reported from Cox’s Bazar while five from Dhaka.

Bangladesh recorded another Covid-linked deaths with 239 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the latest numbers, the total fatalities reached 29,308 while the caseload 2,007,870, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case positivity rate slightly dropped to 4.34 per cent from Monday's 4.99 percent as 5,504 samples were tested.
The latest deceased was a man from Dhaka division.

The mortality rate remained unchanged at 1.46 percent. The recovery rate rose to 97.08 per cent from Tuesday's 97.06 per cent.
In July, Bangladesh reported 142 Covid-linked deaths and 31,422 cases, the highest death toll and cases in the last five months since March this year, as per DGHS.
Among the deceased, 57 were unvaccinated while seven received the first dose, 52 the second dose and 26 the third dose, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Besides, 34,901 patients recovered from the disease during this period.
Bangladesh reported its first zero Covid death on November 20 last year since the pandemic broke out here in March 2020.
