Road crash leaves two dead in Keraniganj
Two people were killed in a collision between two trucks on Dhaka-Mawa Bangabandhu Highway in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as truck driver Hossain Sheikh, 25, and helper of another truck Imon, 19. Details of the deceased could not be known yet.

Utfal Kumar, sub inspector of Hasada highway police station, said the accident occurred around 2am when a speeding Dhaka-bound truck from Mawa rammed into a stationary truck in Rajendarapur area, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
The Highway police station’s OC Molla Jakir Hossain said they seized the trucks after the accident.

2 farmers killed in Pabna road crash; 5 hurt
Two farmers were killed and five others were injured as a truck hit a three-wheeler on Kashinathpur-Bogura highway in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as farmers Munnaf Ali, 50, also the driver of the three-wheeler, and Ziaur Rahman, 45.
The accident occurred this morning when the Bogura-bound truck hit the onion-laden three-wheeler on the highway in Patgari area, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Santhia police station.

Following the crash, the three-wheeler plunged into a roadside ditch, leaving seven of its occupants injured.
The duo died on the way to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital, where the other injured were undergoing treatment, said the OC.

Cop killed in Khulna road crash
A policeman was killed as a truck hit a motorcycle near Daulatpur of Khulna city on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Musabbir Hossain, 38, a bodyguard of Assistant Commissioner of Police of Khalishpur Zone Khulna.
The accident occurred around 10 am when the truck rammed Musabbir’s motorcycle near Minakhsi cinema hall in Daulatpur, said Khulna Traffic Department Assistant Town Sub-Inspectors (ATSI) GM Khalidur Rahman.

Later, he was rushed to Khulna Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police seized the killer truck and the helper but the driver managed to flee, said Kazi Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Daulatpur police station.
A case will be filed in this regard, the OC added.
Fish trader killed in Dhaka road crash
A 45-year-old fish trader was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Mawa highway in Jatrabari area of the capital on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Rajib Mia of Munshiganj district.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police outpost, said the accident occurred around 7:30 am at the slope of Kuicchamara Bridge when a fish-laden covered van overturned while going to Abdullahpur, leaving three people injured.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where Rajib succumbed to his injuries around 9 am.

Motorcyclist dies in Dhaka road accident
A motorcyclist died in a road accident in the capital in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, a private car driver and son of Harej Ali from Hajipur Datiapara village of Sherpur Sadar upazila.
Sohel Rana, younger brother of the deceased, said Anwar was returning home in Banani’s Karail T&T area on a motorcycle after dropping off his employer at the Dhaka Airport.

“The accident occurred when the motorbike hit a road divider near Banani’s Gate No 5. Pedestrians rescued him in critically injured condition and took him to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctor declared him dead around 5 am,” Sohail said.
Bacchu Mia, Inspector of DMCH Police Outpost, said that the body has been kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
Two brothers killed in Gazipur road crash
Two brothers met a tragic end after a covered van ran over the motorbike they were on, in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur on Tuesday afternoon.
Al Amin, 32, and his younger brother Anik Hossain, 28, of Harinhati village under Kaliakair upazila.
Atikur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Salna Highway police station, said elder brother Amin had bought the motorcycle after returning from Singapore around six months back.

The accident occurred in the afternoon as the covered van ran over the bike while it was taking a U-turn on Kaliakair-Nabinagar Road in Chandra area.
Amin died on the spot, while Anik was rushed to Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex in a critically injured state. He succumbed to his injuries there.
Though the covered van was seized, its driver managed to flee. OC Atikur Rahman said legal action will be taken in this connection.
Man, woman on motorbike killed in Tangail road crash
A man and a woman were killed as an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle they were on Dhaka-Bangabandhu bridge highway in Kalihati upazila of Tangail on Sunday night.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, except that one of them was a male and the other a female.

The accident occurred around 8pm when the vehicle hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction on the highway in the Analiabari area, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station.
The victims might have been a couple who were headed towards North Bengal, added the OC.
2 killed in bus-auto rickshaw collision in Kishoreganj
Two people were killed and four others injured in a collision between a CNG-run auto rickshaw and a bus in Kuliarchar upazila of the district Sunday.
The deceased were identified as auto rickshaw driver Rifat, 26, son of late Jamal Uddin of Kishoreganj municipality, and Johora Begum, 65, wife of late Raichh Uddin.

Mohammad Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of Kuliarchar police station, said the accident occurred in the morning when the speeding bus crashed into the auto rickshaw on Kishoreganj-Bhairab regional highway in Maddhyarchar area of the upazila.
The accident left the duo dead on the spot and four others critically injured, he said.

The injured are now undergoing treatment at Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital in Bajitpur upazila, he added.
Minor killed in C'nawabganj road crash
A seven-year-old boy was killed and a woman was injured after a three-wheeler rammed a battery-run auto rickshaw in the Domapara area of Sadar Upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Shawon, son of Shamsur Rahman of Upardhumi area of the upazila while the injured is Shuktara.

The injured woman is now undergoing treatment at Chapainawabganj district hospital.
AKM Alamgir Jahan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar police station, said Shawon was in the three-wheeler when it hit the auto-rickshaw on the busy Chapainawabganj-Shibganj Road around 8pm.

Shawon fell off the three-wheeler and died on the spot, added the OC.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue, said the officer adding that the vehicles were seized by police but the drivers managed to flee.
Bank official killed in city road crash
A bank official was killed as a lorry ran over him in the capital's Jatrabari area on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Aftab-e -Alam,45, of Shimulhati village of Kishoreganj district. He was a principal officer of Pubali Bank's Islampur branch.
The lorry hit Alam on his way home in Shanirakhra area of Jatrabari around 9:30 pm, leaving him dead on the spot, said Mostafizur Rahman, sub-inspector of Jatrabari police station.

Police recovered the body and took it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, added the SI.
Police arrested the driver and seized the lorry, he said.
