‘Robber’ killed in ‘gunfight’ with Rab in Gazipur
A suspected robber was killed in a 'gunfight' with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) at Satchungipar in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Parvez Ahmed, ringleader of inter-district robber gang.

Pervez was wanted in 23 criminal cases, said Mushfiqul Rahim Tushar, assistant director of Rab-1 (media).
Tipped off, a team of Rab-1 conducted an anti-narcotics drive in the area around 1 am.

Sensing the presence of the Rab personnel, Parvez and his two associates opened fire on Rab men, forcing them to fire back.
At one stage, Pervez was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot while the two others managed to flee the scene.

The elite force members recovered one pistol and some Yaba pills from the spot
Later, the body was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College and Hospital.
‘Top terrorist’ killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’
A suspected top terroriswas killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members in Cox’s Bazar municipality area Saturday early morning.
The deceased was identified as Ashraf Ali alias Ashu Ali, 25. He was wanted in 12 cases including of murder.
Wing Commander of Rab-15 Ajim Ahmed said Ashu Ali was shot dead during a gunfight with Rab members in Shahittika Palli area of city’s ward-6.

In the last three years at least five people were killed by Ashu Ali, Rab sources said.
Locals said he and his gang Ashu Bahini established a reign of terror at Shahittika Palli and Samiti Bazar area was dominated.
In 2019 when leader of the gang Amir Khan was killed in a gunfight with police, Ashu Ali became the head of the gang, they said.

'Drug peddler' killed in Gazipur gunfight
A suspected drug peddler was killed in a reported gunfight with members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Hazi Mazar slum in Tongi in the small hours of Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Rokon Mia, son of Tota Mia of the Pubail Bindan area in the district. He was wanted in several cases.

Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of RAB-1 raided the slum around 12 am, said sources at the headquarters of the elite force.
"Rokon opened fire at the RAB personnel to escape from the area. But he died after the RAB sleuths retaliated in self-defense," sources said.

"A pistol and some Yaba tablets were found near the body," they added.
Police have sent the body to the local hospital morgue for an autopsy.
2 killed, 10 injured in Cox's Bazar gunfight
Two people were killed and 10 others injured in a gunfight at Rumaliarchhara Shikder Bazar in Cox'sBazar on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Shahed, 28, son of Mujibul Islam of Tekpara area of the district and Raihanul Islam, 25, chief of Raihan group and son of Nurul Alam of Bacha Mia Ghona area.

A clash ensued between two groups of terrorists, one led by Raihan group and another by Ashu Ali group, over establishing supremacy at Rumaliarchhara Shikder Bazar at 6:30 pm.
The two groups exchanged gunfire during the clash, leaving the two dead on the spot.
On information, a team of police from Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station brought the situation under control.

Cox's Bazar sadar police outpost in-charge Inspector Anwar Hossain said the miscreants fled the scene as police reached the spot.
The bodies of the two were sent to the District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
2 ‘muggers’ killed in Dhaka ‘gunfight’
Two suspected muggers were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) near Kuril Flyover of Khilkhet area in the capital early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Enamul, 30, and Md Rasel, 28.
Tipped off, several teams of DB (Gulshan Division) took position in different areas near Kuril Flyover.
When a DB team gave signal a CNG-run auto-rickshaw to stop it fled the place quickly ignoring the signal. Later another DB team put up a barricade on the Kuril flyover using a microbus to stop the auto-rickshaw, said Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gulshan division Mashiur Rahman.

Suddenly, two muggers got down from the CNG-auto rickshaw and opened fire targeting the law enforcers, he said.
The detectives also fired back in self defence, leading to a gunfight, the DC (DB-Gulshan division) said.
After the gunfight, the detectives arrested two suspected muggers identified as Natyun and Yamin.
Two injured muggers- Enamul and Rasel- were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead.
Officer-in-charge of Khilkhet Police Station Sabbir Ahmed said three separate cases—one under arms act, another under Narcotics Act and another for assaulting police, were filed with Khilkhet police station.
