Thai PM assures BD of continued support at all levels
Dhaka, Nov 21 (UNB) - Terming Bangladesh as the gateway of Thailand to South Asia, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha has assured his country’s fullest support to Bangladesh bilaterally as well as through regional fora, especially in Asean Regional Forum (ARF) and Bimstec.
Thai Prime Minister made the assurance when outgoing Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem met him at Government House in Bangkok on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Tasneem has been appointed Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
She is expected to join Bangladesh High Commission in London as the High Commissioner later this month on completion of her four-year tenure in Thailand.
Tasneem also served as the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UNESCAP and the non-resident Ambassador of Bangladesh to Cambodia.

PM seeks S Korean investment in power and ICT sectors
Dhaka, Nov 20 (UNB) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday sought South Korean investment and cooperation in generating power and establishing ICT training centres in Bangladesh.
She said this when newly appointed South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Hu Kang-il met her at her office.
PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
He said the Prime Minister told the envoy that her government emphasises developing ICT sector in the country and it would be helpful if the South Korea extends its cooperation in this regard.
She also invited more South Korean investment in power sector.
