AIBL signs agreement with Padma Diagnostic
Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited signed an agreement with Padma Diagnostic Centre Ltd on Sunday.
Md Shafiqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank and Md Kaiyum Khan, Director of Padma Diagnostic Centre Ltd exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations, said a media release.
Deputy Managing Directors Shabbir Ahmed, Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Senior Executive Vice President Kazi Mahmood Karim, Head of AIBL Dhaka South Zone and Executive Vice President Manir Ahmad, Senior Vice President Jalal Ahmed, Assistant Vice President Molla Khalilur Rahman and Assistant Vice President of AIBL Mouchak Branch Md. Eleaus Mufti were present.

General Manager, Accounts & Finance Md. Abdus Sayem and Chief Executive, Administration Md. Mizanur Rahman Khan of Padma Diagnostic Centre Limited were also present.
The new agreement will facilitate AIBL employees and their families to avail special discount on various pathology, radiology and other diagnostic and lab tests.

IBBL Chattogram North, South hold Shariah compliance webinar
Chattogram North and South zones and two corporate branches of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) Saturday organised the webinar "Compliance of Shari'ah in Banking Operations."
Professor Md Salim Uddin, chairman of the executive committee of the bank, spoke at the webinar as chief guest and Muhammad Qaisar Ali, additional managing director, as special guest.
Mohammad Muhibbullahil Baqee, member of the shariah supervisory committee of the bank, spoke as the key discussant. Md Shamsuddoha, executive vice-president of the shariah secretariat, also joined the discussion.

IBBL is a joint venture public limited company engaged in commercial banking business based on Islamic Shariah. It is listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange.
Nagad partners with MetLife for employee insurance
Mobile financial services (MFS) provider Nagad has teamed up with MetLife to provide its employees with the financial protection of insurance.
Nagad employees and their dependents (spouse and children) will be financially protected against accidents, disability, medical emergencies and loss of life.
The MFS has taken into consideration MetLife's customised solutions, online claims settlement service, faster payment of insurance claims and financial strength.
In Bangladesh, MetLife provides insurance protection to over 270,000 employees and their dependents of more than 800 organisations, according to a media statement.

An agreement signing ceremony was held recently between Nagad and MetLife.

Banglalink introduces monetisation on Toffee
Telecom operator Banglalink has introduced monetisation on its Toffee platform at "Toffee Con," an assembly of popular content creators, at a hotel in Dhaka.
Three hundred content creators from all over Bangladesh participated in the event.
Toffee introduced the monetisation opportunity on its user-generated content platform for content creators.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the event as the chief guest.

Grameenphone, Banglalink main competitors in service quality, capabilities: Opensignal
Grameenphone and Banglalink are the two main competitors in Bangladesh's mobile phone service sector when it comes to quality and capabilities, according to a report by Opensignal.
Opensignal, a company that monitors and analyses the overall performance of mobile services, has published the "Network Experience Report" on the mobile sector in Bangladesh considering the data from April 1 to June 29 this year.
The company categorised the different aspects of mobile services of Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk into 10 metrics under three categories – overall experience, coverage, and consistency.

Walton brings interactive display with 4K resolution
Walton has brought another new product interactive display with 4K resolution in the market.
Modeled as WSIB75 and WSIB86, the smart interactive boards are ideal for the use of offices, hospitals, and classrooms as well as for personal computing and entertaining purpose as the multimedia display.
Walton is providing up to Tk 20,000 discount on the pre-book for the two models of interactive displays, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Launched under the CiNEd brand name, the regular prices of the two models of Walton's 75 and 86 inch black colored interactive displays are Tk 307,050 and Tk 362,770 respectively. However, customers who will go pre-book for the devices will get Tk 15,000 and Tk 20,000 discount and the displays will cost only Tk 292,050 and Tk 342,770 respectively.

Robi suffers loss of Tk12.16 crore during Apr-Jun
"Despite solid revenue growth and a steady rise in subscriber base," telecom operator Robi has reported a loss of Tk12.16 crore in the April-June quarter of this year due to the devaluation of taka against dollar.
The company's loss per share was Tk0.02 in that quarter, while its earnings per share were Tk0.09 at the same time a year ago, according to the unaudited financial statements.
In Q2, the telecom operator's revenue was Tk2,105 crore, but due to changes in forex, it ended up losing Tk12.2 crore.
Had it not been for the forex changes, the telecom operator said its profit after tax (PAT) for the period would have been Tk86.13 crore.
Robi's revenue for the first six months of 2022 stood at Tk4,124 crore and PAT at Tk28 crore.
Were it not for the losses induced by the forex changes, Robi's PAT figure for the first six months would have been Tk131.88 crore, the company said.

Compared to the last quarter, the company’s revenue increased by 4.3 percent. And revenue grew by 3.7 percent compared to the same quarter of 2021.
Voice revenue grew 4.6 percent compared to the last quarter and by 11.8 percent compared to the same quarter of last year.
Data revenue grew by 3.7 percent compared to the last quarter. It dropped by 4.5 percent compared to the same quarter last year.
Robi's subscriber base grew by 0.8 percent compared to last quarter, reaching 5.45 crore 45 at the end of the second quarter. Compared to the same quarter last year, the subscriber base grew by 5.2 percent.
Robi's Acting CEO and CFO, M Riyaaz Rasheed said: "Losing our hard-earned profit to the devaluation of taka against the dollar is very painful. Since we rely on the international market to source telecom equipment, forex volatility is a major concern for us at the moment."
