Chapainawabganj, Sept 2 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained seven people while trying to go to India illegally through Bakchar border in Sadar upazila early Sunday.
The detainees are Ahad Ali, 19, son of Akhil Miah, Nahimul Haq, 18, son of Kaiyum Ali, Anarul, 19, son of Kalu Miah, Mizan Miah, 20, son of Saiful Islam, Asib, 18, son of Shawkat Ali, Mantu Miah, 23, son of Dulal Hossain, and Bishu Miah, 20, son of Nazrul Islam of Sadar upazila.
Tipped off, a team of BGB battalion-53 conducted a drive in the bordering area and detained them around 6:30am while trying to enter India through the pillar No 34/1 without valid documents, said Sazzad Sarwar, director of the BGB battalion, while speaking at a press briefing in the afternoon.
All of them were handed over to Sadar Police Station and a case was filed against them, he said.
