Sherpur, Apr 26 (UNB) – A local union parishad chairman and 26 others were accused in a case filed over the killing of one Idris Ali in Nalitabari upazila on Thursday night.
Idris’ father filed the case naming Jogania UP Chairman Habibur Rahman as the prime accused, police said. Habibur is also the general secretary of ruling Awami League’s Jogania unit.
Police said they arrested at least eight suspects until Friday.
On Thursday, farmer Idris Ali, 27, son of Fazlur Rahman, was gunned down allegedly by the UP chairman during a clash over land.
