Dhaka, Oct 24 (UNB) - Chinese Minister and Party Committee Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security Zhao Kezhi arrives here on Thursday on a three-day visit to discuss ways to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.
"Yes, the Chinese minister is coming mainly to discuss security cooperation," a senior Home Ministry official told UNB.
Minister Kezhi will have a meeting with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan when they will discuss broad areas of cooperation.
He will also meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the visit.
"Terrorism is our common enemy. We need to fight it together and we need to have close cooperation," a diplomat told UNB.
This is the highest level visit so far from China this year.
The bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China git elevated to the 'Strategic Partnership of Cooperation', which maintains a new momentum of cooperation between the armed forces of the two nations, said the Chinese side.
