The business apex body has teamed up with the Bangladesh Tanklorry Association and the North and South City Corporation to implement the programme, said a press release on Tuesday.
It said 20 tanklorries will start the disinfection work from in front of the FBCCI Icon Tower at Motijheel at 9:30 am on Wednesday. To implement the project, four routes have been chosen so that the programme covers most of Dhaka city, including Uttara and Gabtoli.
Five tanklorries will be used in each of the four routes for spraying disinfectants.
1st route is: Motijheel to Gabtoli (Motijheel-GPO-Shahbagh-Elephant Road-Jigatola-Mohammedpur-Asad Gate-Shyamoli-Gabtoli
2nd route: Motijheel to Uttara (Motijheel-Fakirerpool-Kakrail-Shantinagar, Malibagh-Rampura- Notun Bazar-Biswa Road-Airport-Uttara.
3rd route: Motijheel to Gushan (Motijheel-Kamlapur-Rajarbagh-Shahjahanpur-Rampura-Hatirjheel-Gulshan.
4rth route: Motijheel to Narayanganj. (Motijheel-Gulistan-Nawabpur, English Road-Babu Bazar-Chunkatia-Narayanganj).
Apart from the disinfection programme, the FBCCI has already announced that it will soon distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) among healthcare and essential service workers. A consignment of the PPE is already on the way to Bangladesh from China, it said.
