The cyclonic storm “Burevi”, currently located over the Southwest Bay and adjoining area, is likely to move in a West-northwesterly direction, the Met Office said on Thursday.
Earlier, the storm was centred over Srilanka and adjoining area at 6pm, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to Bihar and adjoining area, it said.
Meanwhile, the weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours commencing 6pm Thursday.
Light to moderate fog may occur at places during late night to morning.
Night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged all over the country.
