Beijing, Oct 27 (Xinhua/UNB) -- Domestic drama film "Better Days" led the Chinese mainland box office on its second day of screening on Saturday, raking in 232.19 million yuan (about 32.87 million U.S. dollars), the China Movie Data Information Network said Sunday.
Accounting for nearly 68 percent of the total ticket sales of the day on the Chinese mainland, the film, directed by Derek Tsang, tells the story of two high school students whose fates were changed by an accident.
It was followed by "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," a sequel to the 2014 dark fantasy film "Maleficent" with Angelina Jolie portraying the title role, which grossed 27.03 million yuan.
Coming in the thrid was domestic disaster film "The Captain," which had led the Chinese mainland box office for several days and took in 21.87 million yuan on the 27th day of its screening.
