The match is scheduled for Friday 6pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Three years ago, Bangladeshi girls defeated Kyrgyzstan Under-16 team by 10-0 goals in the AFC U-16 Women’s Qualifiers at the same venue.
Ahead of Friday’s match, Bangladesh Head Coach Golam Rabbani Choton expressed his confidence. “We’ve already reached the semifinal. Now, we’re eyeing group champions,” he said.
Bangladesh started their campaign in the six-nation meet with a 2-0 victory over UAE in the opening match on April 22. Despite having some close chances, the girls failed to widen the margin due to a lack of finishers and shakiness in the attacking end.
Choton said that they worked theoretically and practically on their weakness for the last three days. “I hope the girls now understand what they have to do,” the head coach added.
Bangladesh are likely to field the same squad.
He said that Kyrgyzstan are a good team but “we’re focusing on the victory [not the margin].”
Kyrgyzstan also reached the semifinals eliminating the UAE by 2-1 goals on Wednesday.
Forward Boronbekova Aizhan and Yrysbek Kyzy Kenzhebubu netted one goal each for the winners while Shahd Khaled Alzarkan scored the lone goal for the UAE.
Aizhan will not play against Bangladesh as she received a red card for committing a serious foul in the 42nd minute.
