While bowling first, Farhad took five wickets for 32 runs - his best bowling figure in T20- and later, he struck unbeaten 24 off eight balls to ensure the win against Prime Bank Cricket Club in the second semifinal by six wickets with two balls remaining.
Prime Doleshwar won the toss and opted to bowl first and failed to restrict Prime Bank to a moderate total. With the help of Zakir Hasan and Alok Kapali, they posted 170 in 20 overs. Prime Doleshwar chased the target (171/4) in 19.4 overs.
Saif Hassan and Mohammad Arafat laid down the foundation for Prime Doleshwar adding 51 runs in the opening stand.
Saif scored 61 off 49 with five fours and two sixes which was Prime Doleshear’s highest score. Along with Saif, Marshall Ayub also contributed with the bat scoring 46 off 31 with two fours and as many as sixes to his credit.
But they got dismissed before the job has done. Farhad Reza, the national star, finished the job in style smashing 24 off eight deliveries.
Earlier, Prime Bank posted 170/9 in 20 overs with the help of superb efforts of Zakir Hasan and veteran Alok Kapali as both of them struck half-centuries.
In the opening stand comprising captain Anamul Haque and Rubel Mia, they accumulated 21 runs. They frustrated to ensure an impressive start as five of their wickets departed in 57 runs.
However, Zakir Hasan and Alok Kapali were firm enough to put up a brilliant stand. They posted 65 runs on the board in the sixth wicket stand. The stand broke when Zakir was dismissed for 52 off 39 with five fours and one six.
Alok was more explosive as he struck 55 off 31 deliveries with six fours and three sixes to his credit.
Along with Zakir and Alok, Anamul was the only other batsman to reach a double-digit score in the match hitting 12 off 11 balls.
Farhad Reza scalped five wickets conceding 32 runs in four overs- his best bowling figure in T20- while Enamul Haque Jr took two and Arafat Sunny and Mohammad Arafat bagged one wicket each for Prime Doleshwar.
Prime Doleshwar will face Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the final on March 4. Sheikh Jamal secured a place in the final beating Shinepukur by wickets.
