Renowned actress of stage and screen, less-well-known director and enthusiastic yet undistinguished painter Bipasha Hayat has been named a Goodwill Ambassador for the global non-profit Save the Children in Bangladesh (SCIBD) on the eve of its 50th anniversary in Bangladesh.
A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to this effect Sunday at the SCiBD country office by Bipasha and SCiBD Country Director Mark Pierce.
After signing the MoU, Bipasha said, “I have long been interested in working for underprivileged children of our country. Ever since I had become a mother, felt a child inside me, the attitude I have towards children, the kindness that has been created, is not just for my children; but for all the children out there.”
Pierce said, “Save the Children has been working in Bangladesh for the last 50 years to bring positive impact in children’s lives. We welcome Bipasha Hayat to join our cause as our Goodwill Ambassador. We believe her commitment and voice will certainly help us creating (sic) a better future for children in Bangladesh.”
Prior to the signing ceremony, Bipasha visited SCiBD’s 'Stop Tolerating Violence against Children' project in Mugda.
