Dhaka, Dec 21 (UNB) - The Election Commission on Friday issued a circular restricting the movement of Rohingya people staying in refugee camps in Cox's Bazar during the voting day on December 30.
A circular signed by EC deputy secretary Atiar Rahman stated that Rohingya people may have been used in the 11th parliamentary polls for creating anarchy in favour of different candidates.
To restrict their movements, the commission asked the authority concerned to work as they cannot come out from the camps from 7:00 PM on December 29 to 8:00 am on December 31.
On the same circular, the EC also restricted the entry of NGOs, social workers and volunteer organisations with vehicles into the camps during the period.
But food, aid or health services would be allowed, it stated.
