Dhaka, Feb 19 (UNB) – Jagannath University Journalists Associations (JnUJA) on Tuesday demanded punishment of attackers who assaulted journalists during a factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
They also held a human-chain on the campus’ Shaheed Minar premises around noon. They said journalists blamed Chhatra League activists for the attack and accused JnU authorities of inaction during the clash.
On Monday, at least 40 people, including three journalists, were injured during a turf war between two Chhatra League factions on the campus.
The journalists threatened to intensify their agitation if no action is taken against the attackers within 24 hours.
JnUJA Convener Jahidul Islam, Member Secretary Rabiul Alam, General Secretary Humayun Kabir, Joint General Secretary Farhana Rahi, among others, were present at the human chain.
