The total cost of these projects is Tk 5.85 crore. The projects will be fully funded by the government of India.
All three projects are in very remote areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts and involve construction of four-storey India-Bangladesh Friendship Building each in Matamuhuri Junior High School, Maungpaikhoi Headman Para, No-2 Chokhyong Union, Ali Kadam, Bandarban district; Thega Khubbang High School, Barkal, Rangamati district; and Gachban Junior High School, Khagrachari district.
High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla, U Ui Chara Bhikkhu, President of the Governing Body of Matamuhuri Junior High School, Jitendra Chakma, Headmaster of Thega Khubbang High School, and Bhupati Chakma, Headmaster of Gachban Junior High School, were present at the signing ceremony.
The government of India has been supporting various development projects in Bangladesh in sectors such as education, health, water, culture, urban development, disaster management, etc, said the High Commission.
