The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to "few misleading news items" published in different media over the "supposed" visit of State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam to participate in Raisina Dialogue to be organised by Overseas Research Foundation (ORF) in New Delhi from January 14.
"The inability of his participation has no other connection," said the ministry on Saturday.
It said State Minister Shahriar Alam was invited as a speaker at the Raisina Dialogue which coincides with his visit to the UAE to accompany the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
As he could not avail the participation, a regret letter has already been communicated with the ORF in this regard.
"It may be noted that there was no bilateral engagement scheduled during the visit," said the ministry.
