BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programmes at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Thursday.
The programmes include placing wreaths at the grave of the party’s founding president, holding discussion and publishing special supplements in newspapers.
Born on January 19, 1936 at Bagbari in Bogura, Ziaur Rahman founded BNP in 1978 and became the country’s seventh President.
As part of the birth anniversary programmes, BNP will arrange a discussion at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium on Friday.
Besides, party flag will be hosted atop all BNP offices across the country on Saturday.
BNP senior leaders, together with party leaders and activists, will place wreaths at Zia’s grave around 10 am on Saturday on the occasion.
BNP’s associate bodies and the party’s district, city, upazila and thana units will celebrate the birth anniversary with various programmes.
