A Khulna court on Sunday sentenced two members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to 20 years' imprisonment in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
Khulna Additional Metropolitan and Sessions Judge SM Ashiqur Rahman handed down the judgment.
The convicts are—Nur Mohamamd Anik, son of Abdur Rahman of Ghior upazila in Manikganj district and Mozahidul Islam, son of Rezaul Karim of Shibganj upazila in Bogura district.

The court also fined them Tk one lakh each, in default, to undergo six months more imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, a team of police arrested the convicts while they were holding a clandestine meeting on the ground floor of a three-story building at Sonadanga in Khulna city on January 25, 2020.

Police also recovered a huge amount of explosive making materials from their possession.
A case was filed in this connection with Sonadanga Police. On August 22, 2020, police submitted a chargesheet against the duo.
