Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City secured the 2021–2022 Premier League title on the final day of the season thanks to a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa. Liverpool can still win the treble if they beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Chelsea and Tottenham finished third and fourth, respectively, confirming their participation in the Champions League next season. Arsenal and Manchester United qualified for the Europa League by finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Besides, West Ham United will play in the UEFA Conference League next season as they finished seventh in the points table.
Among the bottom teams, Leeds United and Burnley fought to avoid relegation on the final matchday of the season. Leeds eventually avoided relegation by beating Brentford 2-1, while Burnley were relegated to the EFL Championship after losing to Newcastle United 2-1 at home.
