BPL Football :Bashundhara Kings will play Dhaka Abahani on Monday
Newly crowned Bashundhara Kings will play league runners-up Dhaka Abahani Limited in a battle of pride in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at 4 pm at the Bashundhara Sports Complex here on Monday.
The two soccer giants--champions Kings and runners-up Abahani will play the Monday's match just for upholding their pride and glory as the result of the match will not affect their league positions.
Bashundhara Kings earned a rare feat of clinching the hattrick title of BPL Football with two matches to spare securing 51 points from 20 matches while Dhaka Abahani Ltd also assured the runners-up position with two matches to spare collecting 44 points from 20 encounters.

This was the first hattrick title for Bashundhara Kings and the 2nd hattrick title in the BPL history after Dhaka Abahani, which won the BPL crown for a record six times, including first three times in a row in the year 2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010.
Bashundhara Kings, which were deprived of the season's two major soccer trophies, deprived the Independence Cup and Federation Cup Football champions Dhaka Abahani for winning the triple crown in the season, by clinching the league title comfortably
The fresh BPL champions Kings will play three times champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club on July 31 while Dhaka Abahani will play lowly Uttar Baridhara Club on the same day (July 31) in their last league matches.

Six time champions Dhaka Abahani Limited Limited became runners up in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football crushing three times champions Sheikh Jamal DC by 5-0 goal at Shaheed Direndranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Tuesday.
Local striker Nabib Newaj Jibon struck twice ( 77th and 82nd minutes), local forward Emon Mahmud (5th minute), Brazilian booter Raphael Augusto (38th minute) and Russian World Cup playing Costa Rica booter Daniel Colindres (42nd minute) scored one each for Abahani, which dominated the first half by 3-0 goals.
With the day's well merited victory, Dhaka Abahani finished runners up with two matches to spare securing 44 points from 20 matches while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club remained at 4th slot with their previous credit of 34 points, playing 20 ties
In the remaining two matches, Dhaka Abahani will play fresh hattrick champions Badhundhara Kings on July 25 and meet lowly Uttara Baridhara Club on July 31 results of which will not affect their runners-up position.

Earlier on Monday, Bashundhara Kings earned a rare feat of clinching the hattrick title of BPL Football after Dhaka Abahani, which won the BPL title for a record six times, including first three times in row in the year 2007, 2008-2009, 2009-2010.
Bashundhara Kings, which was deprived of the season's two major soccer trophies--Independence Cup and Federation Cup Football, assured the ongoing 12-team league crown in the 20th round match on Monday securing 51 points with 16 win, three draw and lone defeat against newcomers Swadhinata KS in the league opener.
However, the King will play remaining two league matches against Dhaka Abahani Ltd on July 24 and Sheikh Jamal DC on July 30, results of which will not affect their league championship.
Bashundhara one win away from BPL title
Defending champions Bashundhara Kings are one victory away from clinching the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football.
The Kings will be crowned champions if they beat Saif Sporting at the Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj at 4pm Monday. They beat Saif 4-3 in the first phase.

The Kings collected 49 points in 19 matches. They need just one win in their remaining three matches against Saif SC tomorrow, Dhaka Abahani on July 24 and Sheikh Jamal on July 30 to lift the title for the third time in a row after Dhaka Abahani.
The Sky Blue Brigade clinched the BPL title for a record six times, including three times in a row.
Independence Cup and Federation Cup champions Dhaka Abahani secured 41 points from 19 matches, seven points behind the league leader Kings.
BPL Football: Saif deal killer blow to Dhaka Abahani with 4-2 win
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani and Chittagong Abahani had a day to forget in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football Sunday.
At the Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, Federation Cup and Independence Cup champions Dhaka Abahani saw their title hopes fade. Saif Sporting beat them 4-2.
With the day's result, Dhaka Abahani slipped up in the title race with 38 points from 18 matches, seven points behind defending champions and league leader Bashundhara Kings, which bagged 45 points from the same number of matches.
Saif regained the third spot in the league table, securing 33 points from 18 matches.
In the day's match, Nigerian forward Mfon Udoh put Saif ahead in the 14th minute (1-0). Abahani's Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes restored parity in the 35th (1-1).
Abahani defender Monir Hossain scored an own goal in the 40th minute much to the delight of Saif fans (2-1).
Rahimuddin netted the third goal for Saif in the 65th minute and Rwandan defender Emery Bayisenge scored one more in the 73rd (4-1).
Costa Rican player Daniel Colindres pulled one back for Abahani in the 95th minute from a penalty (4-2).
In the day's other match, former champions Sheikh Jamal beat Chittagong Abahani 2-0 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.

Uzbek attacking midfielder Otabek Valizhonov scored both goals for Sheikh Jamal in the 29th and 78th minutes.
Despite the day's win, Sheikh Jamal remained at the fourth spot in the league table, securing 33 points from 18 matches.
Chittagong Abahani remained at the sixth spot with 26 points from 18 matches.
In the day's other match, Sheikh Russel beat Uttar Baridhara 5-3 at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
Nigerian forward Ismahil Akinade scored twice; Mohammad Jewel, Nasiruddin and Mannaf Rabbi scored one each for Sheikh Russel.

Samim Yasir Juel, Maruf Ahmed and Asadul Islam Sakib netted one each for Uttar Baridhara.
After the match, Sheikh Russel remained at the eighth spot in the table, securing 21 points from 18 matches. The ninth-placed Uttar Baridhara earned 13 points from 19 matches.
BPL Football: Bashundhara manage 1-1 draw against Mohammedan
Coming from behind, defending champions Bashundhara Kings managed a 1-1 draw against Dhaka Mohammedan in a crucial match of the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football in Cumilla Saturday.
At the Bhasha Soinik Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium, both goals were scored in the first half.
Sixteen-year-old midfielder Sheikh Morsalin, playing for Mohammedan on loan from the Kings, put the Black and Whites into the lead in the 11th minute with a long-distance shot.
Morsalin also played well in Mohammedan's last match against Sheikh Jamal and scored one goal.

Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira restored parity for the Kings (1-1).
This was the first draw for the league leaders Kings after six consecutive wins and overall the third draw in the ongoing league.
In the first phase of the league, the Kings beat Mohammedan 2-0.
Despite the day's draw, the last two times champions Kings, secured 45 points from 18 matches, seven points ahead of the second-placed Dhaka Abahani.
With new coach Shafiqur Islam Manik in charge, the new-look Mohammedan secured another positive result in the league on June 27 after beating Sheikh Jamal 3-1 and moved to the fifth spot.
BPL Football: Mohammedan beat Sheikh Jamal 3-1 to return to winning ways
Dhaka Mohammedan returned to winning ways in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after outplaying three times champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi 3-1 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla Monday.
Mohammedan suffered a 2-4 defeat against their arch-rivals Dhaka Abahani in their last match at the same venue Wednesday.
In the day's match, local midfielder Sheikh Morsalin put Mohammedan ahead in the 34th minute (1-0).

Sheikh Jamal restored parity in the 38th minute when Mohammedan's Malian striker Souleymane Diabate scored an own goal while trying to block a dangerous shot (1-1).
However, Souleymane compensated for his mistake by scoring two goals in the 43rd and 83rd minutes, both from penalties (3-1).
Despite Monday's win, Mohammedan remained at the sixth spot in the league table, securing 25 points from 17 matches. Sheikh Jamal remained at the fourth spot with 30 points from as many matches.

Defending champions and table topper Bashundhara Kings secured 44 points from 17 matches, nine points ahead of the second-placed Dhaka Abahani.
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani earned 35 points from 16 matches and third-placed Saif DC secured 30 points from 16 matches.

Coming from behind, defending champions and table toppers Bashundhara Kings beat Sheikh Russel 3-2 in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football Sunday.
In the first half, both teams scored one goal each at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
Kyrgyz defender Ayzar Akmatov put Sheikh Russel into the lead in the 28th minute from a penalty (1-0).

The Kings' Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira restored parity in the 39th minute (1-1).
Iranian defender Khaled Shafiei scored the second goal for the Kings in the 65th (2-1). Brazilian playmaker Robson Robinho scored the third goal for them in the 85th (3-1).
Sheikh Russel's Mannaf Rabbi pulled one back in the 93rd minute (3-2).
In their previous matches, Sheikh Russel outplayed three-time champions Sheikh Jamal 3-1; Bashundhara Kings beat Rahmatganj 2-0.

With Sunday's win, Bashundhara Kings dominated the league table, securing 44 points from 17 matches, staying nine points ahead of second-placed Dhaka Abahani.
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani secured 35 points from 16 matches. Sheikh Russel secured the eighth spot in the league table with 18 points from 17 matches.
Monday, Sheikh Jamal will face Dhaka Mohammedan at 4pm at the Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.
BPL Football: Saif beat Chittagong Abahani 4-3 to move 3rd spot
Saif Sporting Club moved to the third spot in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after beating Chittagong Abahani 4-3 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla Thursday.
Saif advanced to the third spot for the first time, toppling three times champion Sheikh Jamal with a better goal difference, securing 30 points from 16 matches.
Chittagong Abahani remained in the fifth spot with 26 points from 16 matches.
Nigerian forward Emeka Ogbugh put Saif ahead into the lead in the 43rd minute (1-0). Afghan midfielder Omid Popalzay pulled one back for Chittagong Abahani in the 57th (1-1).
Nigerian playmaker Candy Augustine scored the second goal for Chittagong Abahani (2-1).
Local forward Foysal Ahmed Fahim of Saif again pulled back one more in the 72nd minute and put his team ahead in the 74th (3-2).
Abahani's Nigerian forward Peter Thankgod restored parity in the 87th minute from a penalty (3-3).

Emery Bayisenge scored the match-winner for Saif in the 91st minute also from a penalty (4-3).
In the day's other match, Muktijoddha Sangsad beat Swadhinata 1-0 at the Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi.
Obaidur Rahman Nawab scored the match-winner for Muktijoddha in the 42nd minute.

In a titans battle, six times Champions Dhaka Abahani Limited beat their traditional rival Dhaka Mohammedan SC by 4-2 goal in the 16th round match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Shaheed Direndranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Wednesday.
With the day's well merited victory, the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani keep their slim hope of title alive securing 35 points from 16 matches and remained at the 2nd slot in the league table.

BPL Football resumes Tuesday after 38 days
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football will resume Tuesday after 38 days as Bashundhara Kings were occupied with the AFC Cup and the national team with the FIFA international friendlies and Asian Cup qualifiers.
Defending champions and league leader Basundhara Kings will play against Rahmatganj on the resuming day at the Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj at 4pm.
In the day's other match, Sheikh Jamal will face Sheikh Russel at the same time at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.

Bashundhara dominated the league, securing 38 points from 15 matches with 12 wins, two draws and a defeat.
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani secured second place with 32 points from 15 matches with nine wins, five draws and one defeat.
Former champions Sheikh Jamal occupied the third spot with 30 points.
