Tap, Trust Bank introduce add money service
Mobile financial services (MFS) provider Trust Axiata Pay (Tap) and Trust Bank have started the add money service to make financial transactions easy and affordable.
Tap customers can now add money from their Trust Bank accounts, according to a media statement.

Dewan Nazmul Hasan, chief executive officer of Tap, said: "Tap customers can add money to their tap wallets from Trust Bank. This process will help them save their time and money."
"Tap customers can add Tk50,000 in a day and Tk3 lakh in a month from their bank accounts," he added.

Nagad, Swisscontact team up to enhance financial inclusion of RMG workers
Mobile financial service Nagad and Switzerland's Zurich-based non-profit organisation Swisscontact recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the financial inclusion of apparel workers through a digital platform.
The initiative, a part of "Sarathi – Improving Financial Health," aims to introduce ready-made garment (RMG) workers to the easily-accessible services of Nagad and increase their digital literacy by raising awareness, according to a media statement.
Nagad CEO Rahel Ahmed and Mujibul Hasan (Cezanne), country director of Swisscontact Bangladesh, signed the MoU in the capital.

Sarathi – Improving Financial Health project was launched by Swisscontact, under which both organisations seek to reach about 17,400 RMG workers and their communities with digital financial products and services.
The programme is anticipated to encourage beneficiaries to transact their digital currency in alternative avenues. The project will run until October 20.
The joint initiative will include uddokta, merchants, and educational institutions. Through this initiative, Nagad and Swisscontact will conduct activities to raise financial awareness among the RMG workers and their communities.

Nagad launches add-money service from Meghna Bank
Nagad, the Mobile Financial Service of Bangladesh Postal Department, has launched a service for the users to transfer funds from Meghna Bank to their Nagad wallet.
The service was recently inaugurated through an event organized at Meghna Bank Limited’s head office.
Nagad customers will be able to add money from Meghna Bank to their wallets at any moment in a convenient and risk-free way as a result of this partnership save both time and money for the Nagad users and Meghna Bank's customers.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nagad Rahel Ahmed said, "We have created opportunities for our valued customers to add money to Nagad wallet from numerous of the commercial banks in the country. With this agreement, customers will be able to transact more easily.”
Nagad has introduced the 'Bank to Nagad' add money service in order to provide consumers with faster and better service. Customers may use this service to send money to any Nagad account instantaneously and free of charge using internet banking and the mobile app.
Besides, customers will be able to transfer from Tk 50-50,000 into any Nagad account every day. As a result, each user will be able to transfer up to Tk 3 lakh per month into their Nagad wallet.

Among the banks that are now able to instantly transfer money to the Nagad wallet using the internet banking services are Dhaka Bank, Midland Bank, Meghna Bank Limited, Exim Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, First Security Islami Bank, Community Bank, Shahajalal Islami Bank, NRB Bank, Social Islami Bank, Premier Bank, IFIC Bank, Union Bank, NRBC Bank, National Bank, City Bank Limited, Standard Bank Limited, Bangladesh Development Bank Limited, Bengal Commercial Bank Limited, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Padma Bank Limited, Prime Bank Limited and Trust Bank Limited.
Sohail RK Hussain, Managing Director and CEO of Meghna Bank Ltd, Shyamol B Das, Deputy Managing Director and CIO of Meghna Bank and M Nazeem A Choudhury, Head of Retail and SME Banking along with other officials were also present in the event.

Eid: Nagad offers up to 30% discount on shopping
Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, mobile financial services provider Nagad has come up with a cashback or discount of up 30 percent in 14 categories at more than 5,000 outlets of about 300 brands throughout the country for its users.
Customers will be able to enjoy this cashback or discount on Nagad payments in different categories, including footwear apparel, furniture and accessories, and restaurants. The offers will be valid till 16 July.
In the footwear apparel category, customers will get instant cashback of up to 30 percent on purchases from several brands including Sailor, Artisan Outfitters, Cat's Eye, and Sara Lifestyle.

In the footwear category, customers will get instant cashback of up to 25 percent at Bata, Apex, Lotto, Bay, Walker Footwear, and many other merchants.
In addition, Nagad users will get up to 20 percent cash back or a discount on specific furniture and accessories of brands such as Best Buy, Regal Emporium and Beauty Hub.
Customers will also receive an instant cashback of up to 20 percent on Nagad payments made at several restaurants.

Ensure uninterrupted ATM, POS, internet banking , MFS during Eid vacation: BB
Bangladesh Bank (BB) has instructed banks to ensure uninterrupted ATM, POS, internet banking, online e-payment gateway and MFS services during the Eid-ul-Azha vacation.
The payment system department of BB on Thursday issued a circular in this regard and sent it to the top executives of all the banks, mobile financial service providers, payment service providers and payment system operators.
The circular asked banks to arrange uninterrupted service of Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Point of Sale (POS), internet banking, online e-payment gateway and Mobile Financial Service (MFS) along with adequate manpower to solve instantly if trouble arises during the vacation.

It also asked banks to keep enough money at the ATM booths , ensure security measures at the ATM outlets, set up note checking machine at the POS to avert the fake notes in the cattle markets across the country and other payment points to serve the traders and other customers.
Banks have to ensure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for card based payment, card not present payment, said the circular.
MFS providers asked to ensure enough money at their agent point so that people can get service (Cash in and cash out) during the period.

Besides, the central bank has asked banks and other payment gateway operators to take additional cautionary measures to stop any kind of forgery and scam during the Eid-ul-Azha vacation.
Pay ‘Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms’ fees through Nagad
Nagad has facilitated an easy fee payment option for the Registrar of Joint-stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), to provide a simple bill payment process to the customers and uddoktas (Entrepreneurs).
From now on, more than 2 lakhs and 72 thousand registered companies can pay all types of fees like Name Clearance Application Fee, Registration Fee, and Certified Copy Fee through Nagad.
An agreement was signed in this regard recently at the head office of the Registrar of Joint-stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Nagad said in a statement on Wednesday.

Shafayet Alam, Executive Director of Nagad, Saidur Rahman, Head of Business Sales of Nagad, Sohail S Tasneem, Head of Utility and Education Payment of Nagad, and RJSC’s Registrar (Additional Secretary) Sheikh Shoaibul Alam, Additional Registrar (Joint Secretary) Santosh Kumar Pandit, Deputy Registrar Ranajit Kumar Roy along with other officials were present during the event.
Under the agreement between RJSC and Nagad, customers and Uddoktas will be able to pay all types of fees of RJSC, including application fees, registration fees, and certified copy fees, through Nagad. Others fees will be collected in the coming days. As a consequence, consumers will be able to save both time and money by making fee payments safely and in a hassle-free manner via Nagad.

Customers can make RJSC fee payments through the Nagad app or USSD *167#. Additionally, they can also pay the RJSC fee by visiting the nearest Uddokta point of Nagad. However, customers must incur a 1 percent tax up to Tk 100 while making the payment to RJSC.
To pay RJSC fees using the Nagad app, users must first pick the 'Bill Pay' option from the app's main screen. Then they have to provide the submission or the Reference ID by entering RJSC/1420. In the next step, customers will require to enter the amount of fee, PIN, and hold the tap option. The customer will receive a confirmation SMS after the payment has been processed.
In addition, customers who wish to pay the RJSC fee using Nagad USSD must first dial *167# and pick Bill Pay by dialing 5 and other options by dialing 12. Customers must next provide their account number and submission or reference ID. Customers will thereafter be able to successfully pay their bills by entering the bill amount and the PIN. A confirmation SMS will be sent to the customer’s phone once the bill payment is completed.

Nagad, an arm of Bangladesh Postal Department recently organized an event with Chattagram Metropolitan Police (CMP) to discuss about the customer’s financial security in the mobile financial sector.
The event was arranged by the organisation’s External Affairs Division at at CMP’s Multipurpose Hall at Dampara Police Lines .
CMP’s Commissioner Mr Saleh Mohammed Tanvir, PPM (Service) graced the event as chief guest. Besides, Additional Police Commissioner of CMP Md. Shamsul Alam and Nagad’s Executive Director Niaz Morshed Elite, Chief External Affairs Officer Lt. Col Md. Kousar Soukat Ali (retd), Head of Stakeholder Management Md. Mahbub Alam, PPM, DIG (retd), Chief Corporate Governance Officer M. Nurul Alam, Chief Public Affairs Officer Mohammad Solaiman and others attended the event.

Besides, in collaboration with Bangladesh Police, Nagad has already held numerous seminars, including awareness campaigns among the Nagad Uddokta's on money laundering, terrorism financing and fraudulent and suspicious transactions in various regions of the country.

Nagad bags Visa 'Excellence in Fintech' award
Global payments service provider Visa has conferred mobile financial services provider (MFS) Nagad with the "Excellence in Fintech Product Innovation 2022" award for its easily accessible payment solutions and for enabling users to transfer money from their mobile wallets to any Visa card.
This was the first time Visa awarded the title to an MFS in Bangladesh.
Rahel Ahmed, chief executive officer of Nagad, received the award at the "Visa Leadership Conclave-Digital Payments for Smart Bangladesh 2022" recently held at a city hotel.

"We want to make people's lives easier and this Visa award will inspire us to come up with more such solutions," he added.

Upay, Pran-RFL sign agreement on salary disbursement, merchant payment
Mobile financial services provider upay Thursday signed an agreement with business conglomerate Pran-RFL Group to make salary disbursement and merchant payment easier.
Also, the upay customers will be able to make payments while buying products from more than 1,800 outlets of Pran-RFL Group's Best Buy, Vision Electronics, Walker, Tasty Treat, Mithai, Daily Shopping, Regal Furniture, and Othoba.com.
