It was Bangladesh's first-ever T20I match, which thankfully they had won by 43 runs against Zimbabwe. In that perspective, this match was significant in Bangladesh's cricket history because it is the only format in which they win the very first match. MashrafeMortaza played really well in this match. He not only took a key wicket to help defend a decent 166-run total but also played an important 36-run knock with the bat. Left-arm spinner AbdurRazzak had a fantastic game as well, taking three wickets for 17 runs.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 114 after setting Bangladesh a 101-run target. Bangladesh had to fight really hard to get those runs, and they eventually reached the target after losing seven wickets. Bottom Line
This was the second season of the newly established twenty20 Dhaka Premier League, and fans were particularly interested in this year's event because it featured all of Bangladesh's national team players. In addition to the excitement and attraction of the DPL T20 2021 cricket competition, there was also criticism over the biased umpiring during the tournament. World-class all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was punished once again for breaking the stamp on the field in protest at bad umpiring. However, the competition came to a successful conclusion, with the best team emerged as the tournament champion.
England Clinch Series Against Sri Lanka; Windies Stun South Africa in the First T20I
After winning the Test series (2-0) against the West Indies, a rejuvenated South African team is currently taking part in a 5-match twenty20 series against the Windies. But the visitor lost the series-opening match against the host Windies quite comprehensively by 8 wickets on Saturday at the National Cricket Stadium, Grenada and have taken a 1-0 lead in the T20I series. Meanwhile, England have whitewashed (3-0) Sri Lanka in a twenty20 series after winning a one-sided third match by 89 runs on Saturday at the Rose Bowl stadium, Birmingham. The results of these two T20I matches are discussed in this article.
Report of the ENG vs. SL Third T20I Match
England had already clinched the Twenty20 series after winning the first two matches. So, the third match was crucial for Sri Lanka to earn a consolation win and avoid a whitewash. However, it was a one-sided affair, with England winning by a massive 89-run margin to complete the clean sweep (3-0).
Batted first, England amassed a huge 180/6 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of a 105-run partnership between openers Jonny Bairstow (51) and Dawid Malan (76). The pair were aggressive from the start of the innings, and at one stage it appeared like England would score more than 200 runs.

Sri Lanka came back strong after the openers departed, and England struggled to keep up the run rate later in the innings. Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera was brilliant with the ball, taking four wickets for 17 runs in four overs and assisting Sri Lanka in restricting England to under 200 runs.
In the chase, Sri Lanka started to lose wickets early in the innings and were eventually bowled out for 91 runs with seven balls to spare. Lower-order batsman Binura Fernando (20) was the top scorer for Sri Lanka while pacer David Willey picked up the most 3 wickets for England.
Dawid Malan was named player of the match for his excellent batting in the third match, and Sam Curran was named player of the series.

Report of the WI vs SA First T20I Match
After winning the Test series, South Africa were overconfident heading into the first Twenty20 match against the Windies. But the Caribbean team came out with a lot of aggression on Saturday and won the game by 8 wickets with 30 balls to spare.
South Africa batted first and scored a respectable 160/6, which was ultimately not enough to win the match. Middle-order batsman Rassie van der Dussen played a quick-fire of 56 runs in 38 balls, while Quinton de Kock added 37 runs. Spinner Fabian Allen was brilliant with the ball, taking two wickets for 18 runs in four overs.
In reply, the Windies chased down the target with 5 overs in hand thanks to a fiery 85-run opening wickets stand between Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher (30). Player of the match-winner Evin Lewis went on to score 71 off 35, including seven huge sixes, before succumbing to TabraizShamsi in the 12th over.

The Windies had already scored 124 runs at that point, and it was a straightforward thing for Chris Gayle (32) and Andrew Russell (23) to seal the victory for the Caribbean side. The second T20Imatch between the two sides will take place at the same venue on 28th June (Monday).
Bottom Line
During the opening match of the bilateral T20I series between West Indies and South Africa, the Proteas suffered their 58th T20I defeat while the Windies earned their 59th T20I victory.
Meanwhile, one of the best limited-overs teams in the world, England crushed Sri Lanka in the just-concluded bilateral Twenty20 contest. England outplayed Sri Lanka in every department throughout the series and the host side eventually won the bilateral series 3-0.

Bangladesh team will leave the country for Zimbabwe on June 29 to play a bilateral series against the host starting from next month. BCB has already announced squads for the tour on Wednesday (23rd June). Although some of the decisions were predictable, others caught the eyes of many cricket fans and pundits. The biggest surprise of the squad was the inclusion of newbie Shamim Hossain in the twenty20 squad. Apart from that, all the expected names have been selected for the tour. Bangladesh's Test, ODI, and T20 squads for the BAN vs ZIM Series 2021 are discussed in this article.
Major Highlights From the Declared Squads

Wicket-keeper batsman NurulHasanSohan has been one of the top performers in the domestic circuit, but he has been ignored in the last two years. Finally, he has been selected for the forthcoming series against Zimbabwe in all three formats. Sohan has a chance to win a spot in the playing XI because of Rahim's injury and he will be keen to show his worth if given the opportunity.
Pacer Shoriful Islam has been selected in all three formats for the next series, and he is likely to play several matches during the tour. Shoriful has been consistent in the domestic circuit over the last two years, and the selectors believe he has the potential to be a long-serving member of Bangladesh cricket.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah are back in the Test lineup
Shakib has returned to the Test setup for the Zimbabwe series after missing the last Test series against Sri Lanka. His inclusion in the Test squad is a major boost for Bangladesh, particularly Shakib's bowling will be important for the team tigers. Shakib may complete his 4,000 Test runs and 12,000 international runs in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe.
Only three days after announcing the squads, BCB has included veteran Mahmudullah Riyad to the Test squad who last played for Bangladesh in a Test match against Pakistan in February 2000. Mahmudullah will play his 50th Test match if given the opportunity.
Mustafizur Rahman dropped from the Test squad
As we all know, Mustafizur Rahman is an injury-prone player that is why the selectors were hesitant to take a chance on him. He has been picked for the ODI and T20 formats and will lead Bangladesh's limited-overs teams bowling attack during the tour.

Mukidul conceded nine runs off the 19th over as well. Off the fifth ball this over, Mahedi Hasan’s sloppy fielding cost Gazi Group four runs, and in the last over, Abahani needed only nine, which they have achieved with one wicket in hand and one ball to play.

Prime Bank finished the DPL T20 2021 round-robin league as the table-topper, winning nine of eleven games and losing only two. The opening combination of Tamim Iqbal and RonyTalukdar is one of the most important aspects of Prime Bank's success. The pair has gotten off to a strong start at the top, scoring runs freely.
However, Tamim will be unavailable in the Super League, which will undoubtedly upset Prime Bank. While skipper AnamulHaque has made a few mistakes, otherwise he has performed well for the most part. MohamadMithun, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam have also contributed to the team's consistency throughout the campaign.

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club–8/10
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club finished second on the points table in the Dhaka Premier League 2021, making them one of the most consistent teams in the league. Prime Doleshwar performed well as a team in the first phase of the tournament, winning seven of their eleven matches. They have a few talented players who are in excellent form. Prime Doleshwar's best players are top-order batsman SaifHasan and pace bowler Kamrul Islam Rabbi.
Abahani Ltd – 9/10
Abahani Ltd haven't been the most consistent team this season despite finishing third in the first phase of DPL 2021's points table. The batting unit of Abahani Ltd, particularly two young players Mohammad Naim and MunimShahriar, contributed significantly to the team's success.
However, Abahani does have the strongest team in the competition and they will come back strong in the super league stage. Afif Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Taijul Islam are among the top talents on Mushfiqur Rahim's side. They may also rediscover their form in the Super League phase.

Gazi Group Cricketers – 8/10
The Gazi Group Cricketers initially struggled in the tournament, but they have gradually regained their rhythm and secured a spot in the Super League. With 14 points, they finished fourth in the first stage.
Gazi Group Cricketers have a number of quality players in their squad who can win games on their own. They have Akbar Ali, Soumya Sarkar, Yasir Ali, and MahediHasan in addition to skipper Mahmudullah and veteran MominulHaque. Gazi have a chance to win the championship if they can stay consistent during the super league stage.
Mohammedan Sporting Club – 6/10
Shakib Al Hasan guided Mohammedan Sporting Club to secure a place in the Super League. However, the best all-rounder is unavailable for this round, and ShuvagataHom has taken over as Mohameddan's captain in the crucial stage.
Mohammedan came in fifth place in the points table, with six victories and four losses, indicating that they struggled in the first round. Mohammedan has a minimal chance of winning this year's competition because their players are inexperienced compared to the other teams. Shamsur Rahman, Irfan Sukkur, and Abu Hider Rony are three of their most important players.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club – 7/10
The defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club are placed sixth in the first round of the DPL T20 2021. Out of the eleven games, they won six and lost four. Captain NurulHasanSohan has been in terrific form from the beginning of the campaign.
The squad has notable match-winners, but they haven't fared well in the competition. Ziaur Rahman, Mohammad Ashraful, Elias Sunny, and ImrulKayes will have to perform well in the Super League round if Sheikh Jamal want to defend the title.
Verdict
After examining the strengths and weaknesses of the teams, it is clear that all the teams have a fair chance to win this season’s DPL T20 Cricket League. However, it will undoubtedly be a competitive round, as all of the clubs are keen to win the championship. Teams must be consistent in order to win this sort of competition. Overall, we believe the best team will win the tournament.

However, some big names of Australian cricket will not be seen during the West Indies and Bangladesh tours. Steven Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, and Glen Maxwell are among them.
Marcus Stoinis, Kane Richardson, and Jhye Richardson are among the others who have withdrawn from the upcoming tours owing to personal reasons, while Steven Smith will be absent because of an elbow injury.
The Australia team will be captained by Aaron Finch. Josh Philippe, Matthew Wade, Moises Henriques, and Mitchell Marsh will have to carry most of the responsibility in batting. Australia have plenty of options in bowling, especially in the pace department. So, the national team's management will not have to worry about bowling.

Series fixture
Cricket Australia intends to play five T20 matches at the same venue due to the Coronavirus situation. Therefore, all of Bangladesh's matches against Australia in August are more likely to be staged at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.
Verdict
Bangladesh have never beaten Australia in a T20 match. The two victories of Bangladesh against Australia came in ODI and Test formats. Bangladesh's possibility of winning at least one T20 match is not certain as Australia are a very competitive side. But this will be a golden opportunity for the team tigers' to win a T20 match for the first time against mighty Australian side. In addition, the Bangladesh team can test their strength in the shorter version format through this series. On the other hand, Australia lost their last twenty20 series against New Zealand in March. That's why Australia will take the Windies and Bangladesh T20 series very seriously.

Who was The Best Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team?
On March 31, 1986, Bangladesh met Pakistan in their first-ever international match and they were defeated by 7 wickets in that contest. Bangladesh have played 123 Tests, 385 ODIs, and 99 Twenty20 Internationals since their international debut more than three decades ago. Tigers’ national side won 179, lost 402, drew 17, and 9 had no outcomes out of 607 international matches. Bangladesh have had 18 captains so far, across all the formats, with Mashrafe Mortaza being the only one who led the team in more than 100 games. This article discusses, who is the best Bangladesh cricket captain of all time?
The records
There have been some good skippers through the years, which makes selecting one difficult. Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu (7), Minhazul Abedin (2), Akram Khan (15), Aminul Islam Bulbul (16), and Naimur Rahman Durjoy (11) all struggled as Bangladesh captains in the beginning. Among them, Akram Khan won one match while Aminul Islam Bulbul won two matches as captain for Bangladesh.

Later, Khaled Mashud and Khaled Mahmud captained Bangladesh in 42 and 24 matches, respectively. Bangladesh won four matches under Mashud's captaincy, but not a single match under Mahmud's captaincy.
Bangladesh started tasting that winning feeling even close to consistently since Habibul Bashar took over as captain of the national side in 2004. Bangladesh also won its first Test match under his leadership in 2005. Habibul Bashar captained the team tigers in 87 matches, winning 30 of them and losing 53. Habibul is the third-best captain in terms of wins and unquestionably one of the best captains in Bangladesh cricket history.

Mohammad Ashraful led the Bangladesh national team as captain from 2007 to 2009. Bangladesh only won ten under his captaincy out of 62 matches. He was known to be an inconsistent skipper, similar to batter Ashraful.
Mushfiqur Rahim led the Bangladesh national team in some format or the other for six years in a row from 2011 to 2017. Bangladesh won 26 games and lost 56 under his captaincy. In terms of numbers, he led Bangladesh in the second most matches (94). Interestingly Bangladesh won its highest number of Tests under his leadership, including two historic Tests against England and Australia when Mushfiqur was captain.
Bangladesh won its second-most matches (33) under Shakib Al Hasan's leadership. Shakib captained the team in a total of 85 games, and won 38.82% of their matches. They lost 51 matches when Shakib was in charge.

Mashrafe Mortaza captained Bangladesh in the most matches (117). Despite captaining for the first time in 2009, Mashrafe led the Bangladesh limited-over teams on a consistent basis from 2015 to the 2019 World Cup. The Bangladesh national cricket team evolved dramatically under his leadership during this period. Team Tigers won the most ODIs (50) and T20Is (10) matches when he was the captain. He is the only one who comes even close to a win rate above 50% (60/117). So 'Mash' is the only one who can say that under him, we won a majority of our games. That's why many people consider Mashrafe is the best Bangladesh cricket captain ever.
Tamim Iqbal (13), Mahmudullah Riyad (20), and Mominul Haque (8) are the current captains of Bangladesh ODI, T20I, and Test respectively. Their contribution as captains may be evaluated after a few more years.

Verdict
We have evaluated the records of all captains in order to identify who is the best Bangladesh cricket captain? Mashrafe Mortaza has proven to be the most successful captain, which is why he is known as Captain Fantastic. However, the majority of Mashrafe's success as captain came in the ODI format. Bangladesh have always performed well in limited-overs cricket, and team tigers has had a lot of success in the international arena in the last 6/7 years thanks to Mashrafe's leadership qualities. However, no skipper has a decent record in the other two formats, and Bangladesh is yet to master the formula of getting consistent success in the T20 and Test formats.
