Rain or thundershowers likely in Dhaka, M’sing, Sylhet divisions
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast rains or thundershowers at some places in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Tuesday.
According to a bulletin of Met office, “Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely at one or two places in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places.”
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rains or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at a few places over eight divisions including Dhaka in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Sunday. According to the Met office bulletin, “Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with hails at isolated places.” Besides, a mild heat wave is sweeping Khulna division and Dhaka, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikganj, Narsingdi, Rajshahi, Pabna, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Patuakhali and Bhola districts and it may abate from some places.

As Dhaka got an early morning splash of rain today, which should help with the excessive dust, the Met Office predicted more rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country today.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country.
Country’s lowest temperature was recorded at 16 degrees C in Tetulia of Panchagarh district, while the highest temperature was recorded at 35.3 degrees C in Rangamati district.

Meanwhile, trough of westerly low lies over India's West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over the south Bay.
Showers likely to drench Bangladesh
The weather department has predicted showers across the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin.
A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Nilphamari and it may abate.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends upto Northwest Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Mild heatwave to continue in Bangladesh
No relief is in sight as the mild heat wave sweeping through some districts of Bangladesh is likely to continue, says the weather department.
However, light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Showers are also expected to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country, the department said in its bulletin.
The mild heat wave sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi and Pabna may continue, according to the weather office.

Day and night temperatures may also remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Thursday's maximum temperature was recorded in Rajshahi at 37.5 degrees, while the minimum was recorded in Rangamati and Feni at 25 degrees.
The sun rose on Friday at 5.23am and it will set at 6.47pm.

A mild heatwave is sweeping through the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore and Chuadanga, and it may continue.
The mercury today reached 36.8 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Rajshahi, while the minimum temperature was 22.3 degrees in Rajarhat.
The weather department recorded 99mm rainfall – the highest – in Rajarhat in the last 24 hours till 6pm Sunday.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged, the BMD said.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Sylhet and Dhaka divisions,” said a bulletin of BMD.

A low has formed over central part of South Bay of Bengal. A Trough from this system extends up to North Bay, it added.
