2 children killed in Chattogram road crash
Two children were killed and two others injured as a mini truck hit them on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Mehedi Hasan, 13, son of Md Alamgir of Dakkhin Mehedinagar village of Mirsarai upazila and Md Siam, 10, son of Mintu Mia of Sobhanbag area of Sitakunda Sadar.

Witnesses said when the Dhaka-bound mini-truck was unloading fish standing on the highway in Sitakunda municipality area around 8:30am a lorry hit the truck from behind, leaving the two children dead on spot and two others including Siam’s father Mintu Mia injured.
Later, the injured were rushed to Upazila Health Complex.
Amir Faruque, officer-in-charge of Kumira highway police outpost, said police seized the vehicles but the drivers managed to escape.
Two die as van hits three-wheeler in Cumilla
Two persons were killed when a speeding van crashed into a three-wheeler on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway near Suagazi in Cumilla Sadar South upazila early on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as three-wheeler driver Jamil Mia, 32, son of Hanif Mia of Vatpara village of the upazila, and pedestrian Fazal Mia, 30, son of Lal Mia of Dhonpur village of the same upazila.

Police said the Chattogram-bound van crashed into the three-wheeler after its driver lost control of the vehicle on the high-speed corridor near Suagazi in the morning, leaving both the victims dead on the spot.
Md Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mainamati Highway Police, said they had seized the vehicle though its driver fled. "The bodies have been brought to the police station," the OC said.
1 killed, 7 injured in Patuakhali road accident
A person was killed in a road accident in Patuakhalias as an easy-bike fell into a paddy field with passengers, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ripon Abdullah, 45, driver of the easy-bike and son of Md Abdur Rob Gazi of Salimpur village in Kalapara Nilganj.
The accident occurred as the driver lost control due to heavy rain and strong winds on Patuakhali-Kuakata highway in the Yushubpur culvert area of Mahipur of the district.

Officer-in-charge of Mahipur police station said the easy-bike was traveling from Kalapara to Kuakata with seven passengers in the morning. Due to heavy rain and strong winds, the driver lost control and fell into a paddy field by the road.
The driver died on the spot but the injured passengers were able to leave for their respective destinations after taking first aid locally, the OC added.

Police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
An unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
3 killed in Habiganj road crash
Three people, including two minor siblings, were killed and five others were injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw overturned after being hit by a bus on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Andiura in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mosharraf, 3, and Shahinur Akhter Rumpa, 7, — children of Abdul Kuddus of Rasulpur village in the upazila and Madhu Das, 35, son of Ajit Das of Bijoynagar upazila of the district.
Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sayestaganj Highway Police Station, said Bilkis, wife of Abdul Kuddus, along with Mosharraf and Rumpa and her brother-in-law Abdul Jabbar, 28 was heading towards Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex by the auto-rickshaw as Mosharraf was sick.

Three more people, including Madhu Das, Abdullah and Mahmuda, wife of Salek Mia, were also there in the auto-rickshaw with them.
When the auto-rickshaw reached Andiura Ummatnesa High School, the Sylhet-bound bus of ‘Sagarika Paribahan’ hit it, leaving Mosharraf and Madhu dead on the spot and six others injured.
The injured were taken to a local hospital where doctors declared Rumpa dead.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to the local hospital morgue.

Mother, daughter killed in Magura road crash
A woman and her daughter were killed in a collision between a truck and a three wheeler on Magura-Shalikha road at Junary in Shalikha upazila of Magura district on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sharifa Khatun, 30, wife of Ibadul Islam of Kulum village of the upazila and her 10-month-old daughter Khadiza.

Two other passengers were also injured in the accident.
Police said when Sharifa along with her daughter was going to Shalika upazila headquarter in a rickshaw van the speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit their vehicle around 10am, leaving the two dead on the spot.

Police seized the killer truck and detained the helper of the truck. The truck driver managed to escape.
Tarak Nath Biswas, officer-in-charge of Shalikha Police Station, said a case was filed in this regard.
Child crushed under truck in Gazipur
A seven-year-old child was crushed under the wheels of a truck on Kapasia-Gazipur road near Chandpur village in Kapasia upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rafin, son of Monir Paloan of Chandpur village in the upazila.
Police said the Dhaka-bound truck hit Rafin on his way to a madrasa around 7am, leaving the child dead on spot.

Later, police handed over the body to the deceased’s family.
SI Mizanur Rahman of Kapasia Police Station said they seized the killer truck from Ajmotpur area of Kaliganj but the driver managed to escape.
Truck driver, helper killed in Sylhet road crash
A truck driver and his helper were killed as a truck hit a stationary truck on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Dayamir area of Osmaninagar Upazila in Sylhet on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as truck driver Kamrul Islam, 50, a resident of Golapganj upazila and helper Idris Ali, 42, son of Hanif Ullah of Nabinbagh village in Sonadanga upazila of Khulna district.

Shyamal Banik, officer-in-charge 0f Osmaninagar police station, said when the driver and the helper were standing on the road after parking their truck roadside a stone laden truck from Sylhet hit the stationary one from behind around 5:40 am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
The two vehicles were seized and handed over to the highway police. However, the driver of the killer truck managed to escape.
SP Md Shahid Ullah of Highway Police of Sylhet said the bodies were sent to MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital morgue.
Three killed in Netrakona road crash
Three people were killed and two others injured when a pickup van crashed into a stationary truck on the Netrakona-Mymensingh highway of Sadar upazila in the early hours of Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rony Mia, 20, son of Sabuj Mia, Tofazzal Mia, 1 4, son of Shafiqul Islam of Dharmapasha upazila in Sunamganj district, and Abu Chan Mia, 28 of Netrakona.
Police said the accident occurred at 2.45am when the Gazipur-bound fish-laden pickup van coming from Sunamganj rammed the sand-laden truck parked along the highway in Chalissha Bagra Bazar of Sadar upazila.
"The crash was the result of the van driver losing control of the speeding vehicle. While two fish traders were killed on the spot, three others sustained injuries," said Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Netrakona Model Police Station.
The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, where Chan Mia was declared dead on arrival. "A probe has been ordered into the accident," the OC said.
4 killed in Khulna road crash
Four people were killed as a CNG auto rickshaw plunged into a ditch after being hit by a truck on the Khulna-Satkhira Highway at Dumuria upazila of Khulna on Friday.
The deceased were identified as CNG driver Ilias Sardar, 45, son of Zakaria Sardar of Sharafpur in Dumuria, Reshma Khatun, 32, daughter of Mohiuddin of Rudaghara village. The identities of two others are yet to be known.

The accident occurred when a sand-laden truck hit the CNG on Khulna-Satkhira Highway near east Jilerdanga area around 2pm and then the CNG plunged into a roadside ditch.
After four hours of frantic effort, the fire service recovered four bodies from the ditch at 6 pm. However, the CNG could not be recovered.

Obaidur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Dumuria Police Station, said they detained the truck driver Rakib Sheikh over the accident.
Tangail road crash kills three
Three people were killed and one was injured in a collision involving three vehicles on the Dhaka-Bangabandhu Bridge highway at Kalihati in Tangail on Friday morning.
Witnesses said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound covered-van collided head-on with a truck and then a Jamalpur-bound bus crashed into them on the highway around 10:30 am, leaving one dead on spot and three others injured.

Later, the three injured were taken to Tangail General Hospital in a critical condition where two others succumbed to their injuries.
SI Nazmul Islam of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police said the injured was undergoing treatment in the hospital.
