As many as 150 Indian trucks have remained stranded at Benapole port for the last three months due to the enforcement of lockdown in Indian parts, causing untold sufferings to the truckers.

1,090 Bangladeshis return from India through Benapole in 4 days
Some 1,090 Bangladesh nationals, mostly patients and medical tourists, have returned home through Benapole International Check Post in the last four days.
The travellers, who got stuck in India due to coronavirus lockdown, have returned from India under a special management.
According to the Benapole Immigration Police, 235 people returned home on May 14 while 270, 375 and 210 on May 15, 16, 17 respectively.
The on-duty medical team of Benapole Immigration Police gave them clearance certificates after medical check-up.
As per a government order issued on May 13, those who have no coronavirus symptom need not to be kept under institutional quarantine.
Inspector Md Mohsin Uddin at the immigration police said 1,090 Bangladeshis have returned home from India in the last four days.
They have been given clearance to go back home after their medical test as they had no corona symptom.
66 Bangladeshis return home through Benapole
Sixty-six Bangladeshi citizens who were stranded in India in the midst of the to Coronavirus crisis having gone there at different times for treatment or travelling, returned home on Saturday.

Fifty Seven Bangladeshi nationals, who got stuck in India due to coronavirus lockdown, returned home through Benapole check-post under a special arrangement on Thursday.
Subhankar Kumar Mandal, medical officer of Benapole Immigration Health Centre, said the Bangladeshi nationals who returned home were sent the Benapole Community Centre for quarantine.
These people went to India for treatment, business and tourism purposes and got stuck when the Indian government declared lockdown to prevent the coronavirus spread.
A total of 544 people have so far returned from India since April 6 and they were kept in 14-quarantine at Benapole Community centre and Gazir Dargah in Jashore.
74 Bangladeshis return via Benapole
Seventy-four Bangladeshi nationals, who got stuck in India, returned home through Benapole check-post under a special arrangement on Wednesday.
The body of a Bangladeshi was also brought back.
Ahsan Kabir, officer-in-charge of Benapole Immigration, said these people went to India for treatment and travel purposes and got stuck when the Indian government declared shutdown till May 3.
Sunil Das, a returnee, said he went to Chennai for treatment two months ago.
Puluk Kumar Mandal, Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer, said 477 people have so far returned from India since April 6 and they were kept in quarantine at Benapole Municipality Biye Bari and a madrasha on Jahore-Benapole Highway.
141 Bangladeshis return from India through Benapole in 3 days
One hundred forty one Bangladeshi nationals, who got stuck in West Bengal in India, returned home through Benapole check-post under special arrangement in the last three days.
Dr Habibur Rahman, health officer of Benapole check-post, said the Bangladeshi nationals came through Benapole check-post on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
Of them, 81 people came to the country on Friday, 35 on Saturday and 25 on Sunday morning.
Besides, five people who returned home on Saturday were sent to isolation unit in Sharsha Upazila Health Complex as their body temperature was found high.
The Bangladeshi nationals remained stranded in Kolkata since March 26 following the suspension of the suspension of travelers movement though landports.

One held with arms, ammo at Benapole
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a young man along with arms and bullets from Benapole here on Sunday night.
Tipped off, a BGB team conducted the drive there around 8pm and arrested Sabuj Miah, 24, son of Tota Miah, hailing from Larua Kundo village in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka, said Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer of BGB-49 battalion.
They also recovered one pistol, two magazines and seven bullets from his possession, Reza said.
