Man held with Yaba pills in stomach at Dhaka airport
Airport Armed Police have detained a man who was carrying 4,675 Yaba pills in his stomach from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The detainee was identified as Masud Khan, 39, of Chandpur district.

Additional SP of Airport Armed Police (AAP) Mohammad Ziaul Haque said they detained Masud on suspicion in front of the domestic terminal around 11:50 pm on Sunday.
During preliminary interrogation, Masud revealed that he had kept 4,675 Yaba pills in his stomach which were recovered later, he added.

A case was filed at the Airport police station under the Narcotics Control Act, the official said.
Drug peddler held with 1 lakh yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar
Members of Border Guard (BGB) detained a drug peddler with one lakh yaba pills worth Tk 3 crore from Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar early Sunday.
The detainee was identified as Nasir Uddin, 39, of the upazila.
According to a media release of BGB, a patrol team of BGB-34, tipped off, detained Nasir conducting a drive at his home in Koroibuniya of Ratnapalang UP around 2am.
The street value of the seized yaba pills is around Tk 3 crore, said the release.
The detainee was handed over to Ukhiya police station under a drugs case.
There are four more fugitives accused in the case, it added.
4 drug peddlers held with 50,755 yaba pills in Cox's Bazar
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Thursday detained drug peddlers with 50,755 yaba pills worth Tk 1.50 crore from Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar.
The detainees were identified as Md Shahjahan, 41, Md Ekramul Hossain, 25, Md Dabir Ahmed, 28 and Md Yeasin, 21.

According to a media release of BGB, a patrol team of BGB-34, tipped off, detained Shahjahan and Ekramul conducting a drive at Pangkhali UP in Ukhiya in the morning.
During the drive, BGB men seized 50,000 yaba pills worth Tk 1.50 crore from their possession, said the release.

In another drive at Rejukhal post, the BGB men nabbed the other two drug peddlers with 755 yaba pills in a battery-run auto rickshaw.
Legal processes are underway against the detainees, the release added.
2 held with 1 kg Crystal meth, 50k Yaba in separate drives in Ramu
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday detained two Bangladeshi drug dealers with 1 kg crystal methamphetamine or Ice and 50,000 yaba pills in separate drives in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
According to a media release from BGB, a team of BGB-30 in Ramu, working on a tip-off, detained the drug dealers in Kalghar area at 12:30 pm.
BGB men then seized 1 kg crystal meth worth Tk 5 crore, a motorcycle and a cell phone from the men’s possession.

Meanwhile, another team of BGB-30 detained another drug dealer from an auto rickshaw at Morichya check post around 1pm, said the release.
BGB members seized 50,000 yaba pills worth Tk 1.5 crore hidden in the back of the driver's seat, a cell phone and the CNG-run auto rickshaw.
The detainees were handed over to Ramu Police Station, the release added.
Yaba pills worth Tk 9.60cr seized in Cox's Bazar
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday claimed to have seized over three lakh pieces of Yaba tablets worth Tk 9.60 crore in Cox's Bazaar.
Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team from Reju Amtoli border outpost raided the Goldebar Hill area of Raja Palong union in Ukhiya upazila around 8 pm on Monday.

During the raid, the team members challenged some armed people. But the suspected smugglers tossed a bag and escaped into the jungles, the border guards said in a statement.
Later, the BGB members seized 3.20 lakh Yaba pills, kept inside the bag. Legal action is being initiated in this regard, the statement said.
RAB apprehends trio with over 65,000 Yaba pills
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three alleged drug dealers along with 65,105 yaba pills hidden inside Betel leaf (paan) from Shyampur area of the capital on early Sunday.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Ayub, 35, Abdus Shukkur, 54, and Md Amir Hossain, 65.
The elite force had secret information that a group of organized drug dealers were stationed in the area adjacent to Postagola Fire Service under Shyampur Police Station with a huge consignment of contraband Yaba pills brought from the border districts hidden inside betel leaves.

Youth held with 2,350 yaba pills in city
Members of Rapid Action Battalion on Thursday arrested a youth with 2,350 yaba pills from the city's Adabor area.
The arrestee was identified as Sohan Islam, 21, son late Rafiqul Islam of Faridpur district.

According to a media release from Rab headquarters, a team of Rab-2 made the arrest after conducting a drive in a house at Ring road of Adabor around 10:30pm.
During primary interrogation, the youth admitted that he has been dealing with drugs in different areas of the capital for a long time. He said he brings the yaba from Cox's Bazar border.

Man held with 8k Yaba pills at Dhaka airport
A Saudi Arabia-bound passenger was arrested with 8,000 Yaba pills at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday, officials said.
The arrestee has been identified as Md Ohidul Shikdar, a Bangladeshi national.

Sources said airport officials detected the narcotics (in tablet form) while frisking Ohidul just before he was about to board an Emirates Airlines flight to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia at 7.30am.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said they seized 8,000 Yaba pills hidden in 40 packets from the possession of the passenger.
Legal processes are underway in this regard, he added.
60,000 Yaba pills seized in Cox's Bazar
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Thursday seized 60,000 Yaba pills during a drive at Palangkhali UP No. 5 in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar district.
Tipped-off, a team of BGB Battalion-34 of Cox’s Bazar conducted a drive in the area in the early hours of Thursday while some Yaba traders were entering Bangladesh from Myanmar, said a press release.

When the BGB men challenged the Yaba traders, they fled the scene abandoning a bag containing the contraband pills on the spot.
Later, the BGB men recovered 60,000 Yaba pills worth TK 1.80 crore from the bag.

14 held with drugs worth Tk 12cr in Chattogram
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has claimed to have arrested 14 suspected drug smugglers, 12 of them Rohingya refugees, in the port city of Chattogram and seized Yaba pills worth
Tk 12 crore from their possession.

The arrestees have been identified as Abul Kalam (27), Abul Foyez (50) and 12 Rohingya refugees -- Manir Hossain, 45, Alam, 41, Rafique, 29, Yeahia, 28, Dil Molammad, 23, Majibur Rahman, 19, Abdul Majid, 28, Tarek, 19, Hossain, 42, Bashir Ahmed, 22, Manjur Alam, 19 and Ekram Ullah of Kutupalong Rohingya camp.
Acting on a tip-off, members of the elite force intercepted a boat off the coast ofChattogram and seized the consignment of 3.96 lakh Yaba pills worth Tk 12 crore on Wednesday, said Lieutenant Colonel MA Yusuf, commanding officer of Rab-7.

The 14 men were heading towards Patenga from Cox’s Bazar on the boat when they were arrested, he said, adding that all the smugglers have been handed over to the local police.
