Bangladesh Championship League: BFF Elite Academy outplay Dhaka Wanderers 3-2
BFF Elite Academy earned a 3-2 win over Dhaka Wanderers Club in the Bangladesh Championship League Football 2022-23 Wednesday morning.
At the Birshreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur, Mirajul struck in the 20th and 45+3 minutes for the winners. Samuel netted another one in the 74th minute.

Sourav and Hafiz pulled two back for Wanderers, both in the first half.
Aminul of Wanderers was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Raju, Tanin, Mohsin and Ihtesham scored one each for Gopalganj, who dominated the first half 2-0.
Ali Akbar scored the consolation goal for Wari in the second half from a penalty.

Jamalpur Kacharipara Akadosh earned a 2-0 victory over Farashganj Sporting Club in the Bashundhara Group Women's Football League 2021-22 at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka's Kamalapur on Monday.
Afroza put Jamalpur ahead in the 10th minute (1-0); Krishna Rani sealed the fate of the match scoring the second goal for the winners in the 32nd minute (2-0).

The day's other match between Siraj Smriti Sangsad and Cumilla United Club ended in a goalless draw at the same venue in the afternoon.
Bashundhara Kings and Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan College Sporting Club maintained their unbeaten record in the ongoing league, securing 30 points from 10 matches. They will face each other in their last league match on Thursday at 2pm at the same venue.
Bashundhara Kings need just a draw in their last match to scoop the league crown as they are ahead of their rivals in goal differences with (98-1) 97 plus goals against 68 plus goals of ARB College (71-3).

The Africa Cup of Nations is an international association football tournament for African countries which takes place every two years. The tournament is organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and is the most prestigious tournament in African football.
The tournament is also known as the “African Nations Cup,” and it is the most watched football competition in the continent. Although this tournament was supposed to take place in 2021, it was postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All 54 member countries of the CAF are eligible to enter the tournament and compete for the Africa Cup of Nations title. Out of the 54 countries, only 24 teams get to play in the tournament.
The tournament is divided into two stages. The first is a group stage, in which all participating nations are divided into six groups of four teams each. Each team plays the other teams in their group in a round-robin format. The top two teams in each group advance to the knockout stage, which is a single-elimination tournament.

It is held every four years and is the women’s equivalent of the men’s AFC Asian Cup. The tournament determines the continental champion of Asia.
The competition features 12 teams from the women’s football teams of the AFC. Qualification is determined by a continental qualification tournament held one year before the tournament. The tournament consists of a group stage, knockouts, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final.

1 June: 2022 Finalissima
It is an annual international football tournament organized by CONMEBOL and UEFA. It was first played in 1985 as a successor to the Intercontinental Cup. The tournament features the champions of the two major continental champions, Copa America and UEFA European Championship. The tournament is organized by CONMEBOL and UEFA.
It has been rebranded as Finalissima, and the most recent game was played between 2021 Copa America winner Argentina and 2020 Euro Winner Italy. In this game, Argentina won easily by 3-0 goals. Lautaro Martínez, Angelo Di Maria and Paulo Dybala scored for the Albiceleste.

Argentina and France played the well-deserved breathtaking final. As France is the current champion, their mission was to defend the World Cup. FIFA is taking “appropriate internal action” to address breaches of World Cup protocol by a celebrity chef who held the gold trophy on the field, soccer’s governing body said Thursday.

7 hurt in brawl over FIFA World Cup Final in Kushtia
At least seven people were injured in a clash between supporters of Argentina and France during the final match of FIFA World Cup 2022 at Hatsha Haripur Bazar in Kushtia’s Sadar upazila early Monday.
According to police, locals had arranged the live telecast of the final match on big screen where both the supporters of Argentina and Brazil had gathered.
The Brazilian supporters left the place seeing Argentine supporters cheering after Argentina scored two goals during the first half.
The Brazilian supporters returned and started celebrating after France scored two goals during the second half.
“The clash erupted when an Argentine supporter fell on a Brazilian supporter. The two sides started a brawl and at one point attacked each other. Later, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control,” said Johurul Islam, Officer In-charge (OC) of Kushtia Model Police Station.
The injured were admitted to Kushtia General Hospital for treatment, the OC added.
BFF sign MOU with Saudi Arabian FF for development of country's football
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) continues its support for global exchanges and increased collaboration by teaming up with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) through signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday.
SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal and BFF President Kazi Md Salahuddin signed a MOU at "Saudi House" in Doha, Qatar Sunday (December 18) afternoon ahead of the FIFA World Cup final, said a BFF media release Sunday evening,
Apart from two presidents, BFF Vice President Ataur Rahman Bhuyan Manik, FIFA council member and chairman of the BFF women's football commitee Mahfuza Akhter Kiron. BFF general secretray Abu Nayeem Shohag and SAFF general secretary Ibrahim S Alkassim were also present on the occasion.
The MoU will see the two Asian federations collaborate on areas such as women’s football, technical development, football management, talent identification and refereeing as well as to arrange Bangladesh team's football training camps in Saudi Arabia and to open the oppourtinty to play friendly matches.
The partnership with the BFF is part of Saudi Arabia’s strong football drive commitment to
strengthen its existing ties with its Asian football family and support the development of the
game. Key areas of the partnership will be centred around both Youth and Women football.
Women’s football in Bangladesh is undergoing a transformation across all levels of the game,
from grass roots development to refereeing and coaching.
The Bangladesh women’s team recently made history by clinching the first-ever South Asian Football Federation Women’s title denying the long domination of India.
