Does midrange Vivo iQOO Neo 7 worth its value: Review
The iQOO line of smartphones was launched by BBK electronics in 2019 to be part of Vivo’s affordable performance smartphone series including mid-range and flagship android devices. Their latest offering Vivo iQOO Neo 7 was launched on October 20, 2022. It is the successor to iQOO Neo 6. Here’s a detailed take on the Neo 7 so you can decide whether the device is worth the buck.
Key Specifications of iQOO Neo 7
Design and Build Quality
From a strict design perspective, a lot has stayed the same on the Neo 7 from the Neo 6. You still get that squared-off camera housing on the back with an overall plastic build. But the main distinguishing difference this year has to be the leather textured back.
Even though the device is completely made of plastic, the use of vegetable tan leather brings a premium hand feel, at least for those who will use it without a cover. Other than the back, everything appears to be the same as it was on the Neo 6.

Another distinguishing feature is seen on the front camera. The Neo 6 boasted a colored ring around the punch-hole camera on the front. Many users complained that it was a bit distracting while watching content as the ring was a physical thing. iQOO seems to have listened to the complaints as the Neo 7 doesn’t have any ring around it. Overall the screen dimensions have also increased as the chin, and side bezels look remarkably smaller than they used to be before.
There are no headphone jack and expandable storage on the Neo 7. But the model comes in a host of storage options up to 521 GB.
Overall the design is a markup on an already great device. What was lacking in the previous iterations has surely been made better this time around.

The Display
On paper, the iQOO Neo 7 has the same display as its predecessor. However, there has been a slight increment in size thanks to the reduced chin. Spec-wise, the display is an AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR 10+ support included. It’s the perfect upper mid-range panel with crisp and sharp contrast and vivid color reproduction.
Even though it’s completely identical to the Neo 6, everything seems to be a bit better than the previous iteration. That is because iQOO has used a dedicated display chip on the Neo 7 which works to brighten and sharpen contents on the panel.
The viewing angles on the panel are also great. We did not notice any kind of color shift or flickering issues. The high refresh rate combined with fast animations makes for impressive day-to-day usage with the Neo 7.

The Camera
The iQOO Neo 7 uses a 50 MP primary sensor combined with an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro shooter. The camera on paper is a bit of a downgrade from the Neo 6 as it came with a 64 MO main shooter. But that’s about it. Even though the main lens has a lesser megapixel count, it doesn’t fall short in performance.
In our testing, the main camera performed pretty well. Daylight photos came out excellent, with great contrast and sharpness. The details were also on point especially the edge detection in portrait mode. The dynamic range seemed to be a hit or miss at times as it sometimes captured great details and washed out completely at others.
But like most other android devices, the performance falls short in indoors or artificial lighting conditions. The images don’t look grainy as iQOO has a variable shutter speed built into the camera app but it tends to overexpose the subject at times. As a result, pictures come out looking artificial.

On the videography end, the Neo 7 is capable of shooting up to 4K at 30 fps. The front camera has a generic 16 MP shooter that produces passable results. The videography on the front camera is limited to 1080P at 30 fps.
Processor and Performance
The processor is where the iQOO Neo 7 surpasses all its competitors. The devices come equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ based on a 4 Nm architecture. The octa-core processor has a chip design of 1 3.2 GHz Cortex-X2 and 3 2.85 GHz Cortex-A710 and 4 1.80 GHz Cortex-A510. The balanced design between higher and lower power chips makes it a highly efficient processor.
In day-to-day usage, it is almost impossible to slow the device down. We tried playing call of duty, PUBG, and Asphalt 9 on the Neo 7. Needless to say, the device was able to crunch each of the games at max graphics settings without any hiccups. Though the device got heated a bit after about 30 odd minutes.

This device would be the perfect pick for anyone looking for a powerful device on a mid-range budget. It will easily deliver all your processing needs and then some more.
Battery and Charge Time
The Neo 7 comes with a 5000 mAh battery on board. The battery coupled with the highly efficient chip can easily run for around 8 to 9 hours of continuous usage. But that’s not even the best bit about the Neo 7. There is a 120W fast charger included in the box that can charge the device from 0 to 50% in just 9 minutes.
Price of iQOO Neo 7
The iQOO Neo 7 comes in four different storage options – 8/128 GB, 8/256 GB, 12/256 Gb, and the maxed 12/512 GB. The price of each of the variants is 27,540 INR, 31,140 INR, 34,140 INR, and 35,940 INR, respectively. That brings the price to around 35,469 BDT, 40,105 BDT, 43,969 BDT, and 46,287 BDT respectively (1 INR = 1.29 BDT). However, the official price of the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 may vary due to tax and other issues.

Final Words
The iQOO Neo 7 is the perfect mid-range smartphone that will offer a near-flagship-level experience for half the price. And not to mention the premium build quality it brings this time around. The phone has made excellent improvements in the display, battery, and performance section over the Neo 6. But the camera is still not up to the mark if you compare it with the competitors. Overall, the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 is an easy recommendation for anyone looking to pick up an all-around performance smartphone.

vivo Y22s 4G Review: Will it survive competition?
The smartphone market for entry-level to lower mid-range has always been filled with competition. vivo has been a key player in this market with its range of devices, especially the Y series. The series first debuted in 2019 with the vivo Y3. Over the years there have been several additions to cater to the dynamic needs. vivo’s latest Y series phone Y22s was launched on 23rd August 2022 globally. Now, it is available in Bangladesh. Here’s our detailed take on the key features of the vivo Y22s so that you can decide whether to go for it or not.
Key Specifications of vivo Y22s
Design and Build Quality
The design elements of the vivo Y22s are reminiscent of its previous generation, the Y21s. There is a similar brushed-back design with diffused reflection making it look much more premium than its price class. It also does an excellent job of repelling fingerprint smudges and overall wear and tear.
However, the build is still plastic. The phone features plastic all around with an unrated glass front. At this price point, the choice of a premium design with a plastic build is not surprising. And it shouldn’t bother you much if you put in a case on the device.
Read More: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Review: Know the Pros and Cons
The dimensions of vivo Y22s are 164.3 by 76.1 by 8.4 mm. The device weighs about 192g.
Moving on to ports and buttons, the Y22s features all the essentials. The 3.5 mm headphone jack still stays right beside the secondary mic and the bottom-firing speaker. The left of the device features the sim slot along with the dedicated micro SDXC slot. The right side features the volume rocker and the power button which also doubles as the biometric sensor.
The overall design and the build quality of the Y22s are satisfactory. However, the only drawback might be its front design which has rather thick bezels and chins compared to the 2022 standards.

Display
Perhaps the most visible letdown of the Y22s is its display. While it might seem like a stretch, for its price vivo should’ve included better hardware in the display department. Considering this is the primary contact point between the user and the device.
The Y22s features a 6.55-inch 720P IPS LCD panel with 270 PPI density. It has a resolution of 720 by 1612 pixels. The choice of IPS LCD is still understandable, but considering that vivo has priced the device in the mid-range segment, it definitely should’ve included FHD+ resolution or a faster refresh rate.
Many of vivo’s competitors offer the same along with AMOLED at this price point. Speaking of the display itself, it doesn’t have the weird color shift or blue tint like that of other HD+ LCDs. However, that’s the only good thing.

The colors on the device look a bit washed out and the lack of vibrancy is even more noticeable because of the lower resolution. The display does get relatively bright in both indoor and outdoor use but it’s no match for direct sunlight as you will notice glares even with max brightness.
Overall, the display could’ve definitely been better on the Y22s. What it brings to the table is passable but it definitely won’t be the key selling point of the device.
Camera
The vivo Y22s features a dual camera system. This might seem like a downgrade from the previous generation which had a triple-camera setup. But there’s more than meets the eyes.
Read More: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Review: Can it fulfil users’ expectations
The main sensor of the vivo Y22s is a 50 MP ( f/1.8) wide-angle shooter. This is the same main sensor found on the Y21s. the Y21s had an additional 2 MP depth and macro sensors. This Year vivo dropped the depth sensor and kept the 2 MP (f/2.4) macro shooter for a dual camera setup.
Moving on to the performance of the cameras, the main sensor steals the show here. The pictures look great in outdoor condition with decent lighting. For a mid-range smartphone, the camera was surprisingly good at capturing the dynamic range and details.
The portraits however were a hit or a miss. Sometimes it captured great details along with proper edge detection. But other times the subject wasn’t properly exposed.

The exposure issues become even more apparent indoors or in dimly lit environments. The Y22s also suffer from grains and noises in any form of artificial light.
The videography of the phone is limited to 1080P at 30 fps.
The front side offers a generic 8 MP (f/2.0) shooter which gets the job done. It can capture 1080p footage at 30fps.
Processor and Performance
Moving on to the processor, the vivo Y22s features a Snapdragon 680 4G chipset based on the 6nm architecture. The 680 chip from snapdragon is the perfect mid-range chipset which has been a reliable choice for a few years now. The processor’s graphic unit is equipped with an Adreno 610 GPU.
Read More: OPPO F21 Pro 4G Review: Special attraction for Shakib fans
Similar reliability is reflected in the performance as well. Although not touted to be a gaming phone, the Y22s can handle gaming pretty well. Especially titles like COD, PUBG, and Asphalt 9 play at the highest settings without any hiccups. The only problem here is that the device does get heated up after quite some time of continued gaming.
For day-to-day task, the Y22s performs like a breeze. The Funtouch OS also came a long way from its initial days to be more streamlined and responsive. Overall, the performance of the Y22s justifies the price it comes at.
Battery and Charge Time
The vivo Y22s comes equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. Combine this with the moderate display and the device can easily last around 8-10 hours of continued usage. The device also supports 18W wired fast charging which vivo claims can go from 0 to 70% in 70 minutes.

Official Price of vivo Y22s in Bangladesh
The Y22s is available in two variants – the 6/128 GB one and the 8/128 GB configuration. Currently, the 6/128 GB variant is officially available in Bangladesh. The price of the device is 21,999 BDT and can be currently pre-ordered. However, the price is subject to change.
Verdict
The vivo Y22s checks a lot of the boxes when it comes to affordable mid-range devices. It has got a good camera, a decent battery, and a durable build with stylish looks. However, the one aspect that will bother any user is the display. Other than that, the vivo Y22s smartphone seems to be a standard phone for average day-to-day tasks.
vivo V25, V25e Review: Is the Price Difference Justified?
Chinese global technology business vivo Communication Technology Co. Ltd., also known as vivo, is based in Dongguan, Guangdong. Starting the journey in 2009, vivo creates software, online services, online services, and smartphone accessories. vivo V25 5G and V25e 4G are the latest addition to vivo 25 series lineup. These smart-looking smartphones feature color-changing design that helps them stand out from the crowd. Both phones got released in Bangladesh on 25th September. They come with their differences while sharing too many similar features.
Key Features of vivo V25 and vivo V25e
Design
The vivo V25 and vivo V25e both are powerful mobile devices. Both devices, much like the vivo V25 Pro, have arguably high-end design elements.
When it comes to design, both phones resemble just the same. You get built front and back panels in these devices. The dimensions (159.2 x 74.2 x 7.8 mm) are similar for both devices. However, V25e is a bit lighter (183g) than its counterpart V25 (186g).
The corners are so elegantly cut that they seem like they might cut you. And since it's shaped like a brick, you can feel the millimeters that make up its thickness.
Read OPPO F21 Pro 4G Review: Special attraction for Shakib fans
A fingerprint scanner is built right into the screen for both phones, and it performs quite well. Although this kind continues to give off a more premium feel than the side-loaded variety, there isn’t any genuine advantage to selecting this type over the traditional side style. However, this one is rather effective.
There is no headphone jack, although the sides are flat and reveal a large space where one might easily be installed. You can't add a microSD card, either. Both of these approaches will likely dissuade prospective purchasers who may otherwise be interested in the phone.
The only difference in the design area is that the V25 offers an extra color variation. You can get both phones in Elegant Black and Sunrise Gold colors; while the V25 also comes in a Surfing Blue hue.

Display
The display portion has nothing unidentical between V25 and V25e.
The AMOLED display of the vivo V25 and vivo 25e is 6.44 inches and features a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The resolution is 2404 by 1080 pixels, which may seem peculiar but is very standard, and there is a teardrop notch at the very top.
There are panels with 120Hz available at roughly this price. However, unless you are moving from a phone that already has 120Hz, do not believe 90Hz is a significant step-down. In addition, it is probably essential to the phone's ability to have a reasonably long battery life. More will be spoken about it at a later time.
Read OPPO F21s Pro Review: What new features does it offer?
The contrast is excellent, and the colors are vibrant, both of which are characteristics that are almost assured with an AMOLED display. There is the regular color mode, the professional color mode, and the brilliant color mode. The first two are strong, but you can go with "professional." It has a wonderful appearance, giving the impression to your eyes of being more saturated than the sRGB color space, but on a mobile device, the sRGB color space seems somewhat subdued.
vivo claims that the display can reach up to 1300 nits. However, you won't see anything close to that number in practice. If you force the vivo V25 into its high brightness mode, which activates automatically when you are outside in intense sunlight, the screen reaches a brightness level of 780 nits. This makes the screen bright enough for comfortable usage outdoor.
Camera
Rear Camera
On the back side of vivo V25, three rear cameras are available. It has a 64MP wide main sensor that features f/1.8 aperture and 0.7 nicrome lens. It's 8MP ultra-wide sensor comes with an f/2.2 aperture, 16mm wide and 120-degree field-of-view. Due to the 8MP resolution, those images don't stand up well under close inspection and frequently struggle to capture more intricate natural textures. The rear camera series also includes a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
Read Infinix Zero Ultra Review: Worth the hype?
V25e has 3 sensors on the rear side. The 64MP main sensor and the 2MP macro sensor are the same as V25, the only difference is the ultra-wide sensor. The V25e’s ultra-wide camera is 2MP. Vivo's effective HDR optimization may provide instantly memorable shots, especially during the day. The V25e’s 2MP ultrawide lens doesn’t fall short of the ability to capture great pictures compared to V25’s 8MP.
Compared to the more expensive V25 Pro, the video functions are not much worse. With software stabilization at least somewhat successful, with the vivo V25 version, 4K video can still be captured at 30 frames per second.
Both vivo V25 and V25e can capture 1080p footage at 30fps. When you switch to 1080p capture, the Ultra stabilized mode becomes available. This drives the software stabilizing process with a much more drastically cropped view.

Front Camera
On the front side, V25 has a 50MP (f/2.0 aperture) selfie camera that performs well in all lighting conditions. Pictures are clear and clean, albeit not too detailed, in excellent lighting and in poor lighting. Like the rear camera, you can capture 4K images at 30fps, or 1080p images at 30fps.
The V25e supports a 32MP (f/2.0 aperture) selfie camera that provides good photos but is not as good as V25’s. The selfie sensor can shoot 1080p footage at 30fps.
Performance and Software
Being equipped with the powerful 6nm SoC of MediaTek MT6877 Dimensity 900 processor, the vivo V25 offers 5G and delivers decent CPU performance. the graphic unit is blessed with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU.

The vivo V25e sports the MediaTek Helio MT8781 G99 6nm CPU, which gives it the power necessary to handle most day-to-day activities. These activities include gaming, surfing social media, and doing various other chores. The GPU is Mali-G57 MC2.
Both phones run on the Funtouch 12 operating system on top of Android 12.
The vivo V25 comes in three different storage variations: 128GB/ 8GB RAM, 256GB/ 8GB RAM, and 256GB/ 12GB RAM. On the other hand, V25e has only 128GB 8GB RAM, and 256GB 8GB RAM variations.
Both phones are ideal for playing high-end games.

However, the V25e lacks the 5G technology and falls short in providing a premium experience compared to the V25.
Battery and Charger
The vivo V25 and V25e both have a 4500mAh battery capacity. These phones are expected to have around 40% charge remaining at the end of day when used lightly.
Both vivo V25 and vivo V25e have a 44W fast-charging capacity.

Vat is applicable for both phones. The price tags are subject to change. Both the V25 and V25e are officially available in Bangladesh right now.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a phone with a glass-made front and back panel but don't want to pay a lot, then consider vivo V25 and vivo 25e.
Read OnePlus Ace Pro Review: Premium phone with flagship chipset
The display and design of both phones are almost the same. The gaming power of the vivo V25e is a bit inferior to the vivo V25, and its camera does not perform as well in low light as the vivo V25.
On the whole, both vivo V25 5G and vivo 25e 4G phones are excellent options under the mid-range price levels. If you want to do heavy-duty gaming, go for the V25.
Vivo V25e launched in Bangladesh
Global smartphone brand vivo has brought V25e, the latest addition to its V series smartphone, to Bangladesh.
V25e is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 CPU and has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage capacity. The device is available in two colours – Diamond Black and Sunrise Gold – for Tk 34,999.
The smartphone has a 4500mAh battery and can be fully charged in 65 minutes with 44W fast charging.

Also, V25e offers smooth user experiences through Fun touch OS 12 based on Android 12.
Advanced camera configurations are the top features of the 6.44-inch-display AMOLED smartphone.
Vivo V25e has a triple main camera configuration at the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel camera, and a 2-megapixel camera. The 64-megapixel main camera is equipped with a GW3 image sensor. The camera configurations also included a single front camera arrangement with a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies.

With the night mode features, V25e will help the users get clear images and video content under any light. AISD portrait, live photo, double exposure, high resolution, panorama mode and slow motion features will give the users a good photography experience.
Colour-changing glass is another attraction of Vivo V25e as the colour of the smartphone will change by a second under the sunlight and last for three minutes.

Vivo V25 Pro: Detailed Review with Key Specifications
There was a time when phones were either budget, mid-range, or flagships. But over the years, the line between these segments got more blurred as companies introduced devices fitting the category of upper budget, lower mid-range, upper mid-range, and so on. Vivo V25 Pro, one of the latest offerings from Vivo. From design to build quality, everything speaks of a proper flagship. But as you will see forth, that really isn’t the case.
Vivo V25 Pro was launched on 25th August 2022 in China. In this article, we take a look at the device and see what it offers at a price that’s increasingly becoming a segment of its own.
Key Specifications of Vivo V25 Pro
Design and Build Quality
Traditionally smartphones in the mid-range and upper mid-range get an incremental update to their previous generations. The choices reflect internal upgrades with a minor tweak on the hardware itself. But Vivo is a complete pathbreaker in this regard. The company has always invested to be inventive not just with their flagships but also with mid-range as well. The Vivo V25 Pro is also a testament to that.

Weighing 190g, Vivo V25 Pro features a dimensions of 6.26 by 2.89 by 0.34 inches. It can bear dual SIM. The device is resistant to scratches and sweat.
The rectangular camera hump on the back is nothing like the previous generation. The front camera cut-out has also been shifted to a punch hole from the bathtub notch. Speaking of build quality, the frame of the device is made from polycarbonate with a color-matching chrome coating on the back. The back and the front panels are made of glass but there is no rating on their durability.
The port choice remains the same as the previous generation. The volume rocker along with the power button is on the right. The fingerprint sensor is under display this time around and the sensor itself is an optical one.

But perhaps the most striking change is the color changing back. Yes, you have heard that right, Vivo is using a thermal and UV-sensitive material on the back of the device. It allows for a makeshift change in color once heat or UV light is applied to it. The changes aren’t permanent though. It will revert back to its original color in a matter of minutes.
Overall, the build quality with a quirky back makes for an impressive device considering the price.
The Display
The display of the Vivo V25 Pro is an AMOLED one with an FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. By any standard, this display is a punch above its price point. It even has HDR 10+ support for high-quality playbacks.
The 6.56-inch display is on par with most standard phones out there. V25 Pro’s display sports 1080 by 2376 pixels resolution with 398 PPI density. The panel can churn out 1300 nits of peak brightness in direct sunlight with an average intensity of around 700 nits. This is impressive considering users will not have any problem viewing the display in outdoor conditions.

Moving on to the quality of the display, it hits all the right notes. The colors looked accurate with the hue being a tad on the warmer side. Users will be able to calibrate the panel to their preference easily from the settings. There are also no weird color shifts and the viewing angles looked excellent.
It's easy to assume that the display will be one of the key selling points of the V25 Pro.
The Camera
Being the subsidiary of BBK electronics which also owns Oppo, it's understandable to see that Vivo will put equal emphasis on the camera. In fact, the camera has also been one of the key marketing strategies for different Vivo phones in the past.
The V25 Pro features a triple camera setup. The main sensor is a 64 MP f/1.9 wide-angle shooter with OIS. The supporting lenses are an 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro shooter. Now the macro shooter might just be a gimmick but the other two lenses are more than capable to lead the photography charge.

Images in bright light look crisp and sharp. There are ample amounts of details with a balanced dynamic range. Then we did notice a few exposure issues, especially under direct sunlight. Other than that, it’s a perfectly capable shooter outdoors.
When it comes to indoors on artificial lights, the camera holds its ground. The dedicated night mode does an excellent job of balancing details and colors even in almost dark conditions.
The main sensor can also record up to 4K at 30 fps and with the included OIS, the quality gets enhanced even more.
The front features a 32 MP f/2.5 selfie shooter. It’s definitely on the upper end of sensors with a higher MP count. The images look great on the front sensor as well but it’s nothing out of the ordinary. With the selfie shooter you can capture 1080p videos at 30fps.

To sum it up, the camera performance on the V25 Pro will not disappoint you, but it won’t exactly blow your mind away either.
Processor and Performance
The Vivo V25 Pro comes with MediaTek Dimensity 1300 built on the 6 Nm architecture. The processor with its benchmark scores sits between the Snapdragon equivalence of mid-range and flagship processors.
The processor has a chip design of one 3.0 GHz Cortex-A78, three 2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 and four 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55. The varied performance levels are induced to bring a better power and performance balance. The CPU has been combined with Mali-G77 MC9. The device runs on Android 12, Funtouch 12 operating system. Even at 6 Nm, the phone is fairly efficient in power consumption and optimization.
The real-life performance also reverberates the specs on paper. Day-to-day usage of the device will be smooth like a breeze. Graphics-intensive titles like Call of Duty and PUBG ran on max settings. You can expect to game for long hours without the device heating up easily.

Battery and Charge Time
The Vivo V25 Pro comes equipped with a 4830 mAh battery. Combined with an efficient processor like the Dimensity 1300, users will be easily getting 8 to 10 hours of continued usage. But that’s not all. The phone also has a 66W fast charging which can charge up to 40% in 15 mins and 71% in 30 mins from zero.
Price of Vivo V25 Pro
The Vivo V25 Pro isn’t officially available in Bangladesh yet. The Official price of the device in China is 3,038 CNY which roughly equates to 41,841 BDT (1 CNY = 13.77 CNY). However, the price may differ when the device becomes officially available in Bangladesh.
Verdict
The Vivo V25 Pro doesn’t really change anything present on the V lineup. The updated design, camera, and processor are all incremental updates that amount to the V25 Pro. However, the camera configuration didn’t exactly have the expected advanced specifications like last year’s upgrade. That is probably the only drawback of the device. Beyond that, users will have quite an experience with this feature-packed premium midrange smartphone of Vivo.

Bangladesh's smartphone market shrank 3% in Q2 2022: Counterpoint
Amid soaring inflation, Bangladesh's smartphone market shipments dropped 3 percent year-on-year in Q2 2022, according to Counterpoint Research's Market Monitor Service.
"Bangladesh's smartphone market experienced a good start with Eid celebrations during April. The month contributed almost half of the quarter's total shipment volumes," Karn Chauhan, senior analyst at Counterpoint, said.

The original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are expected to increase smartphone prices by up to another 20 percent in the coming months."
Bangladesh's feature phone shipments declined 12 percent year-on-year, mainly due to the shift towards smartphones, which resulted in a 9 percent year-on-year decline in the country's overall mobile handset market in Q2 2022.
In Q2 2022, Xiaomi secured the top spot in the smartphone segment and Samsung second spot with a 17.3 percent market share. Vivo took third place with a 10.1 percent share.
