Vivo T2x Review: Should you consider this midrange gaming phone?
Over the years Vivo has become a veteran in the android smartphone world. The company had its humble beginning and slowly moved into mid-range and proper flagships over the years. But that didn’t stop the company from still making affordable and great entry-level smartphones. Vivo T2x released on 31st May in China reiterates Vivo’s commitment to affordable gaming devices. The T2x carries that motto forward with its impressive design, build quality, and performance. Here is everything in detail so that you can decide whether it is worth the price or not.
Key Features of Vivo T2x
Design and Build Quality
The Vivo T2X is a slightly toned-down budget variant of the Vivo T2. While Vivo has continuously delayed the launch of the T2 to late August now, the T2x has finally made its way to the masses. The device is almost identical to the T2 which in turn is heavily inspired by the first iteration of the T series, the T1.
The similar design spec is also coupled with the premium build quality. Vivo users should feel right at home with the hand feel and durability of the device. However, Vivo T2X weighs around 202g which might feel heavy to some users.
Read: Infinix Hot 12 Play Review: Should you buy this budget phone?
The device has all the usual port choices found in a budget device. There are dual sim slots but unfortunately, Vivo has decided to skip the inclusion of a micro SDXC slot for extended memory. Like all other budget devices, the headphone jack remains ever-present in the T2x as it's tipped to be present in the higher T2 variant as well.
The fingerprint sensor has been side-mounted this time around to the power button. The surface is made flush with the plastic frame. It will take some getting used to accurately figure out the position of the power button.
The plastic build of the device might not be to everyone’s taste but considering the budget and the tried and tested design element, the T2x definitely packs a punch above its class.

Display
The display is a 6.58 inches IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution. LCD is still a top choice when it comes to budget devices. The LCD panel will not compete with the likes of AMOLED but with its features and resolution, the display doesn’t disappoint. There is a 144 Hz refresh rate in the panel. That’s a notch up from the usual 120 Hz seen on high-end panels.
Needless to say, the user experience here will be buttery smooth. The OS seems to blaze through everything giving it a far superior performance outlook than the device is actually capable of.
The panel has great color vibrance and excellent viewing angles. It holds a peak brightness of 650 nits. It is a bit below average compared to the other panels and outdoor visibility might be compromised with some glares. But overall, it is still an impressive panel that delivers through and through.

Camera
The main camera system of the T2x is a dual-lens setup. Vivo reserved the high-end triple camera system for the T2 whereas the T2x got a toned-down version of the same. The main lens here is a 50 MP f/1.8 26 mm wide-angle shooter. The Sony IMX sensor has been a consistent choice for many brands in this price segment.
The other is a 2 MP macro shooter. So how does the main sensor fair since there’s virtually nothing new in the camera tech? Well, that is where Vivo’s post-processing magic happens.
The images from the main sensor look sharp with a crisp dynamic range in different lighting conditions. The phone also does significantly well in low light conditions especially indoors. The auto-adjusted shutter speed easily captures great details in indoor lighting conditions.

The videography of the T2x is tipped at 4K at 30 fps and 1080P at either 60 or 30 fps. The gyro – EIS does a good job at stabilization, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.
The front-facing camera is a 16 MP one. It’s a decent wide-angle shooter that gets the job done. Overall, it's understandable why Vivo is a self-titled camera phone company because the performance of the camera system is well above the price it comes at.
Processor and Performance
What came as a surprise with the T2x is its processor. The T2 is slated to come with an upper mid-range Snapdragon 870 5G chip. The T2x matches that with the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chip built on the 6 Nm architecture. The octa-core processor has 1 3.2 GHz Kryo 585 and 3 2.42 GHz Kryo 585 and 4 1.80 GHz Kryo 585 setups with an Adreno 650 GPU.
Read: Oneplus 10R Lite: What will it offer?
The processor performs remarkably well thanks to the 6 Nm efficient build. It is also much lighter on battery. The processor coupled with the ultra-fast display offers a near-flagship performance experience. There are no lags or stutters anywhere in the UI. 3D games also run in max settings with only a few minor frame drops here and there.
This phone runs on the Android 12 OriginOS 2.0 operating system. Vivo’s OriginOS has come a long way from its initial days and is considerably less heavy with its bloatware. Overall, users will be satisfied with the performance and price match here.
Vivo T2X is blessed with UFS 3.1 data transfer technology. It has two variants 8/128GB and 8/256GB. But it lacks any memory card slot.

Battery and Charge Time
The Vivo T2x comes with a 6000 mAh battery and a 44W fast charging. The battery life comes at around 6 to 7 hours of continuous usage. It would have been much more but the 144 Hz LCD panel churns out most of the juice.
Price of Vivo T2x
The Vivo T2x comes in two variants – 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The lower storage model will cost 1699 RMB or 23,557 BDT and the higher one is slated at 1899 RMB or 26,330 BDT (1 CNY = 13.87 BDT). However, the price might differ when the device is officially launched in Bangladesh due to various factors like tax and import schedule.
Verdict
The T series from Vivo has been the perfect mix and peek into the high-end Vivo models. Starting with the T1, the company focused on affordable mid-range devices that provide a good value for the money. This latest Vivo phone T2X brings some impressive features which may excite the Vivo fans.
Read Xiaomi Redmi 10c Review: Can this budget phone fulfil users’ needs?
By virtue of its MediaTek Dimensity 1300 6nm powerful processor, T2X will provide a satisfactory gaming experience. 44W wireless fast charging makes this phone valuable for gamers as well as professionals.
But like any other phone Vivo T2X has some limitations. This phone has a plastic body which may get easily heated after continuous usage or gaming. Weighing 202g, this device might appear heavy for daily usage. The lack of an AMOLED panel is a pity as this feature is currently offered by many low-priced competitors. Many users can miss the memory expansion slot. This phone has no water and dust resistance feature which is another drawback.
The provision of wireless charging could make T2X a better deal. On the whole, it is an incredibly capable phone which is sure to be a value proposition for many. If you are looking for a gaming phone, don’t miss Vivo T2X.

Vivo X80 Pro 5G Review: Is it a reasonable flagship Smartphone?
Vivo is a China-based multinational tech company that is best known for its smartphones. The company rose to prominence with its camera phones which propelled them to the top 10 phone makers in the world in 2015. Vivo currently has several lineups with the X series being their top-of-the-line flagship offerings. The company launched their latest Vivo X80 Pro 5G on 29th April 2022 globally. Here’s a detailed take on the device so that users can decide whether to go for it or not.
Key Specifications of Vivo X80 Pro 5G
Design and Build Quality
Before diving into the details of the Vivo X80 Pro 5G, it's important to note that this is a through and through camera phone. Vivo has done some next-level stuff here which will be discussed in detail later.
The X80 Pro completely resembles the X70 Pro with its matte black finish and an almost one-third-spaced camera housing on the back. The most obvious change is the module itself. Now the camera comes in a circular module whereas the X70 Pro had a vertical setup. But the base of the camera remains the same ceramic rectangular design.
Read: Motorola Moto G22 Review: Is it a worthy budget phone?
The stainless-steel frame and the overall matte finish exudes premium quality in the device. All the buttons and ports are as usual. Users won’t be getting any headphone jack just like the X70 Pro. There isn’t any micro SDXC support so users will have to choose between 256 GB or the 512 GB option.
The under-display fingerprint is a 3D ultrasonic sensor now. Vivo has perfected the ultrasonic tech to give a lightning-fast response. At about 215 gm and 6.48-inch in height, this is not a small phone by any means. But the premium design, material, and overall finish definitely put it among the top.
The Display
The best thing about Vivo X80 Pro is that the brand has tried to incorporate something groundbreaking in every department. The display also got a little upgrade which is worth talking about. The panel itself is an LTPO3 AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 2K resolution, HDR10+ support, and 1500 nits brightness.
Read: Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Does it offer value for money?
The specialty here is the E5 technology used in the panel. The E5 tech allows the device to significantly reduce power consumption. On average, a 2K AMOLED panel with a high-power chipset can last about 4 to 5 hours of continuous usage. But the E5 tech allows to stretch that to up to 6 to 7 hours.
Moving on to the performance, it's as expected from a high-end display. The colors look sharp and crisp with 1B color support. The viewing angles of the panel are excellent and the 1500 nits offer perfect outdoor visibility. Overall, be it for casual use or media consumption, this device is guaranteed to offer a phenomenal experience.
The Camera
The camera system on the X80 Pro is the highlight of the entire device. The quad-camera setup has a 50 MP main lens, 48 MP ultrawide, 12 MP telephoto, and an 8 MP periscope for those ultra-zoom shots. Needless to say, each lens is more than capable of its purposes.
Read: OnePlus 10R Review: Is it a worthy Midrange Flagship Killer?
The main lens has been changed to Samsung’s new GNV sensor. In addition to OIS and PDAF, Vivo actually included a physical micro gimbal in the main sensor. Such camera techs are unheard of before. The front camera is the same 32 MP sensor found in the X70 Pro. Vivo could improve the selfie sensor.
It is important to note that Vivo has collaborated with Zeiss for the post-processing and color rendition on the X80 Pro and the partnership delivers. Zeiss incorporated their T lens coating and pixel shift technology along with luts support. Yes, the same luts that are used in Lightroom or After Effects are now present in the stock camera app of the X80 Pro.
All of these features bring out a scintillating result. There really isn’t any drawback to the camera here. The cinematic mode, ultra-zoom, portrait mode, oval bokeh, and even the night mode – everything exceeded the level of expectation. Part of the post-processing development can be attributed to the new V1 chip that Vivo included specifically for photo and video post-processing. Overall, this is a camera system that is easily the new standard to beat for all the competitors out there.

Processor and Performance
Depending on the market, the Vivo X80 Pro will come with either MediaTek Dimensity 9000 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Both of these are similarly powered processors built on the 4 Nm architecture. The octa-core design of the Snapdragon is expected to be 1x3.05 GHz Cortex-A78 and 3x2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 and 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55.
In addition to being powerful, the 4 Nm architecture offers incredible efficiency at a fraction of the power consumption. The device absolutely blazes through everything that is thrown at it. Whether it's 3D games or casual social media browsing, this device will perform with equal dexterity. Depending on the region, the device will either run the Android 12, or Funtouch 12 or Origin OS Ocean. However, many users have complained about bloatware in its OS. And, its UI shows Ads which irritates the users.
Battery and Charge Time
The Vivo X80 Pro has a 4700 mAh battery which supports 80W fast charging. The fast charger comes in the box and it can take the device from 0 to 100% in just 38 minutes.

Price of Vivo X80 Pro 5G
The official release price of the Vivo X80 Pro 5G in India is 79,999 Rs for the base model (256GB/8GB). That means the price in the Bangladeshi market should be around 90,784 BDT (1 INR = 1.13 BDT). But the price may differ in the local market depending on various factors.
Verdict
X80 Pro is the flagship standard of the company. It is the culmination of the breakthrough tech the company has developed over the years. The X80 Pro absolutely shines in almost every department be it the display, camera, or battery. This phone offers a powerful processor (MediaTEk Dimensity 9000), Android 12 OS, great speaker performance, and sturdy build quality.
However, this device is not free from drawbacks. It shows a somewhat overheating problem. The front camera comes with the similar specs like ancestor X70 Pro. It could have been improved. The price seems a bit high. The users might experience bloatware in its OS and ads in UI. Overall, if you are looking for a Vivo phone promising proper premium flagship experience, consider Vivo X80 Pro 5G.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Does it offer value for money?
Vivo, a renowned Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled the Vivo T1 Pro 5G smartphone to compete in the mid-range smartphone market. The first impression of the T1 Pro is favourable, and the camera output seems to be of high quality. Here is a comprehensive evaluation of the latest Vivo smartphone in order to address the aforementioned question and assist you in deciding whether or not to purchase the brand-new Vivo device.
Key Features of Vivo T1 Pro 5G
Design
Starting with the design, you will be blown away by the Vivo T1 Pro's stunning appearance as soon as you take it out of the box. Despite its regular gradient blue colour, the Vivo T1 Pro 5G enters the ranks of attractive phones. The phone's back panel has a gleaming finish that shimmers in the light, giving it a funky appearance.
A large and bold camera module rests proudly on the back cover, coupled with an LED flash. The phone is made of plastic, yet it is dust and scratch-resistant, giving it a nice and tidy appearance.
Read OnePlus 10R Review: Is it a worthy Midrange Flagship Killer?
The phone features curved corners and a matte finish, making it comfortable to use. The phone is small and portable, which will appeal to you if you are not a huge lover of large phones. The phone comes in two colours: Turbo Black and Cyan Tide, and the Cyan Tide one.
On the right side of the smartphone, there is a power button and a volume rocker, whereas the left side has nothing. The sensor is rather sensitive, and you can unlock the smartphone using face recognition or an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The phone's SIM slot is located on the bottom, along with a speaker grille and a USB Type-C connector. There is no 3.5 mm audio jack on the phone. Despite its 4700 mAh battery, the phone is extremely small and comfortable to hold.
Read Motorola Edge 30 Review: What’s special about this upper midrange phone?
Display
The T1 Pro 5G has a 6.44inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a respectable 90 Hz refresh rate. A greater refresh rate of 120HZ may have been provided by the mobile phone carrier. The display is smooth and responsive, making it ideal for playing high-octane games and for viewing movies and video content on your phone. It has excellent colours, sharpness, and brightness.
The display boasts a great 20:9 aspect ratio and a DCI P3 colour gamut of 100%. On top of that, the phone features an SGS Eye Care Display certification, which means you can binge-watch for hours without straining your eyes.
Camera
On the back, the Vivo T1 Pro 5G has a triple camera configuration with a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. A 16-megapixel camera is available for selfies.
Read Infinix Note 12 Review: Is it worth buying?
The 64-megapixel main camera excels at capturing fine details and has a wide dynamic range. Its big f/1.79 aperture delivers plenty of details even in low-light situations. A Super Night Mode denoises photos while adding light softly to nighttime photographs.
The 8MP ultra-wide camera is also rather good. It has a 117-degree field of vision. However, it produces soft details, and there is a colour shift in photographs taken by ultra-wide cameras compared to those taken by standard cameras.
In terms of selfie cameras, skin colour reproduction might be better. Panorama mode, portrait mode, and Slow-mo are just a few of the features that make the phone a good choice for social content makers. In portrait mode, you may experiment with various filters and styles to spice up your social media postings. The image quality is excellent while utilising the Full Zoom option.

Performance
A Snapdragon 778G 5G octa-core processor with Kryo 670 CPU cores powers the phone. Despite being a year old, it's an energy-efficient CPU capable of extending the 4700mAh battery's life and providing well-optimised performance.
The same A73 5G CPU can be found in the iQOO Z6 Pro. It performs well in everyday tasks and most games run at high visual settings. You will have no problems playing BGMI and Call of Duty for a few minutes.
The gadget has Ultra Game Mode, as well as a calibrated Z-axis linear motor and 4D Game Vibration for a more immersive gaming experience. You can also use picture and video editing software like Canva, which worked well.

You can enjoy binge-watching web series and movies since there was no latency even after many hours of use. The gadget also holds true to its boast of having 8 layers of liquid cooling since it never got hot. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest processors in this price range.
Battery
A large 4700mAh battery powers the phone. It provides an excellent battery backup of up to a day on a single charge based on my typical activity, which includes accessing the internet, viewing movies or films, attending calls or video chats, browsing social networking applications, and playing games.
Not only that, but the Vivo T1 Pro comes with 66W FlashCharge technology, which allows you to charge your smartphone to 50% in only 25 minutes.

Price of Vivo T1 Pro 5G
The Vivo T1 Pro has been released with 6GB RAM and 8GB Ram in India at INR 23,999 (BDT 27129) and INR 24,999 (BDT 28259) respectively. The conversion rate here is 1 INR = 1.13 BDT. However, the price may change due to tax and other issues after the official release in Bangladesh.
Verdict
Vivo T1 Pro 5G excels in appearance and performance but falls short in terms of battery charging time, audio setup, and night photography.
120 Hz refresh rate could make it a better deal. It has no dual/stereo speakers which is available in many contemporary low budget phones. Though being a mid range phone, the T1 Pro lacks an ultrawide sensor, which is surprising. Its low charging speed and lack of dust/water resistance can be a deal breaker for those who stay outdoors for long hours. It does not provide NFC support.

T1 Pro supports a 5G connection. The display quality is also commensurate with the cost. If you want a phone with a trendy design, adequate performance, and a high-quality selfie camera, then you may consider Vivo T1 Pro 5G.
