Elderly duo left for dead fearing infection in Savar
Two sexagenarians found abandoned out in the streets, apparently over fears of being infected by Coronavirus, were rescued and admitted to Savar Upazila Health Complex over Saturday and Sunday.
Madrasha student dies with fever, cold in Savar
A Madrasha student suffering from fever and cold died at his house in Savar municipality area on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Asadul Islam, 12, a resident of Chayabithi Mahalla in the municipality.
Dr Sayemul Huda, upazila Health and Family Planning officer, said the boy had been suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem for the last few days and died on Sunday morning.
On information, Savar Upazila Health Complex authorities collected samples from the body of the boy.
Earlier on Saturday, an 80-year-old man died after suffering from breathing problem at his house at Batulia in Dhamrai upazila.
Local administration has put a number of houses in Savar and Ashulia under lockdown.
