Bogura, Sept 14 (UNB) – Police on Friday arrested a total of 22 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami on charges of planning sabotage activities from different areas of the district town.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested 16 leaders and activists from the residence of Nandigram upazila Jamaat Amir Anwarul Islam while conducting a secret meeting there around 9 am, said Sanatan Chakrabarty, additional superintendent of Bogura police.
The team also recovered five cocktails, some Jihadi books and several motorcycles from the spot.
In another drive police arrested six women activists of the party form Sadar upazila, the officer added.
