Satkhira, May 31 (UNB) – A case was filed over Thursday’s attack on Satkhira Press Club that left 10 journalists injured.

The case, filed at Sadar Police Station on Thursday night, accuses 24 people.

Journalists organised a human chain protest in front of the press club around Friday noon and demanded arrest and exemplary punishment of the attackers.

They alleged that supporters of local parliamentarian Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi are behind the attack. Journalists declared Robi a persona non grata at the press club a few days ago.

Witnesses said that about one hundred criminals stormed the press club around noon. First they disconnected the CCTV connection and then attacked the journalists.

The injured include the press club’s president and general secretary.
