DNCC drive: 300 illegal structures evicted in city
Two establishments fined Tk 1.5 lakh, one jailed

Dhaka, Sept 29 (UNB) –A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) here on Sunday conducted an eviction drive from Mirpur-14 to Bhashantek intersection and removed some 300 illegal establishments.
A team of mobile court led by its magistrate SM ShafiulAzam and Mohammad Sajid Anwar conducted the drive in area and evicted 300 semi-pucca establishments, shades and stairs.
During the drive, the mobile court fined a bamboo trader Tk one lakh for keeping bamboo on footpath after occupying it. He was also sentenced to 15 days jail for failing to pay the fine.
Besides, it also fined another person Tk 50,000 for keeping construction materials on road.
