A victim female student submitted written complaint to the university authorities seeking punishment of the teacher as Arfin harassed her luring her to get married, sources at IU registrar office said on Monday.
Two audio clips, purportedly containing the teacher’s salacious conversation with a female student, went viral on Facebook on June 28.
Taking the issue in cognizance, IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari asked the sexual harassment prevention cell to investigate into the incident led by its convener Professor Nasim Banu, IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif said.
The prevention cell was asked to submit the investigation reports as early as possible, he added.
IU vice-chancellor Professor Rashid Askari told UNB that the committee would unveil the truth and remedies for the sexual harassment prevention would come to light.
