Cumilla, Sept 30 (UNB) - A court here on Sunday deferred till October 3 the hearing on a bail petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a murder case filed over the deaths of eight people in an arson attack in Cumilla in 2015.
Acting judge of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-5, Mohammad Jalal Uddin, fixed the date, said Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Kaimul Haque Rinku.
Earlier on September 20, acting judge Golam Mahbub Khan, Senior Judicial Magistrate court-5 fixed September 30 for the hearing on a bail petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a murder case following a time petition filed by the prosecution.
Eight people were killed and at least 20 others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram of Cumilla district during the BNP-led alliance’s movement on February 3, 2015.
Two cases were filed against Khaleda Zia in this connection.
