On her arrival at the venue at 8:05pm, the Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, National Professor Dr Rafiqul Islam, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, PM’s Advisers HT Imam and Dr Moshiur Rahman were, among others, present on the dais along with the Prime Minister.
Besides, other ministers, PM’s advisers, state ministers, chief whip, whips, parliament members, chiefs of the three services, attorney general, judges of the Supreme Court, the inspector general of police (IGP), gallantry award-recipient freedom fighters, educationists, editors, senior journalists, business leaders and leaders of different professional bodies and high civil and military officials attended the dinner.
The Parliament today passed the national budget for the fiscal year of 2019-20.
On June 13, the Finance Minister unveiled the largest-ever national budget with a focus on developing communications infrastructure and human resources and achieving the 8.2 percent GDP growth.
