“We’ll work to create international pressure on Myanmar (to resolve the Rohingya crisis),” he said during a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the bilateral booth of Baku Congress Center where the NAM Summit is taking place.
Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque later told reporters that the Iranian leader said they would continue their support to Bangladesh on Rohingya issue.
He also thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for sheltering Rohingyas.
He said Bangladesh and Iran have a cordial, cultural and historical relation.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanked the Iranian President for his country's support to Bangladesh on Rohingya issue.
She emphasised united efforts of Islamic Ummah.
“The Islamic Ummah should resolve their internal conflicts internally. If they can do this, then the Islamic Ummah can emerge as a big power in the world,” she said.
Both the leaders vowed to work unitedly against terrorism.
