“It’s very important for checking environmental pollution and ensure public health safety,” he said at an inter-ministerial meeting on slaughtering sacrificial animals at fixed spots and removing wastes.
He said 96 cattle markets and 2,941 slaughtering spots were fixed at 12 city corporations this year, adding: “Action will be taken if anyone sets up cattle markets without permission.”
Minister Islam said the waste must be cleared by 9pm on the day of Eid-ul-Azha. Round-the-clock cooperation will be extended through control room for removal of wastes.
It was informed at the meeting that pandals will be set up at places fixed for slaughtering animals at Dhaka city corporations. Besides, there would be sufficient numbers of Imams and people to prepare the meat.
