The Minister made the remark at a press conference at his office in the city after a meeting with South Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Hu Kang-il on Tuesday, said a PID handout.
He said South Korea want to reduce the trade gap between the two countries. Bangladesh exported 254.84 million US dollars while imported 1240.70 million US dollars in 2017-18 fiscal year.
The Prime Minister of South Korea is scheduled to hold meeting with 100 Bangladeshi businessmen on from 13th to 15th July, the minister added.
South Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Hu Kang-il said, Bangladesh is a good trade partner as well as trusted friend for South Korea. South Korea wants to increase trade volume with Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh is a good place for business. Many Korean companies are already working in the country’s various sectors including garments,” he added.
Commerce Secretary M Mofizul Islam, Additional Secretary (export) Tapan Kanti Gosh were, among others, present.
