Police FC have been promoted to Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football as the champions of Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) football 2018-19
The disciplinary committee of Bangladesh Football Federation took the decision as per its code (Article 46, 53, 55, 56) at a meeting held at the BFF House on Monday after reviewing match commissioner MR Mukul’s report and news published in different print and electric media.
The disciplinary committee also banned four police booters and physio for different terms and fined Tk 5 lakh to Bangladesh Police FC Club on disciplinary grounds for physically assaulting match officials breaching the code of conduct.
Police booters M Amirul Haque and Tareq Aziz will face a two-match suspension and fine of Tk 1 lakh each while two other players --Azmi Omar and Sarwar Hossain Joni – were given a nine-match suspension and fine of Tk 1 lakh each.
Police FC Physio Santanu Mallik was declared persona non grata at the stadium for nine months alongside a fine of Tk 2 lakh.
All the fines will have to be paid within one month.
Shamim physically assaulted BFF Manager (Competition) Jaber Bin Taher Ansari and security guard Mizanur Rahman during the prize giving ceremony of the Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday last.
The policeman reportedly tried to make unauthorised entry into the stadium during the last league match between Bangladesh Police FC and Soccer Club Feni when Ansari prevented him.
As the gate was opened after the match, Shamim entered the stadium and swooped on the BFF manager and beat him. As security guard Mizanur came in his rescue, the policeman also assaulted him.
