So far, this is the highest total of this season’s encounters.
Zazai, the 20-year-old batsman, hit his second half-century of the contest which helped the Dynamites to post a challenging total of 192 in the first innings of the match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday.
In the first match of Dhaka against Rajshahi Kings, Zazai struck 78 off 41 balls, and eventually, Dhaka won the match by 83 runs.
Zazai and Sunil Narine added 67 runs in the opening stand for Dhaka while Rony Talukdar, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell exploited the initial platform playing some handy innings.
Sunil Narine was the first batsman to get dismissed for Dhaka adding 19 off 14 balls. He mistimed a Paul Stirling delivery that ended with a catch at mid-on by Al Amin Khan.
Rony and Zazai added 43 runs in the second wicket stand. Rony felt for 28 off 18 balls. Mahmudllah Riyad, the captain of Khulna Titans, trapped Rony by a slow delivery. Ariful Haque took an easy catch at long-on to dismiss him.
After losing three wickets for 113, it was Shakib Al Hasan’s responsibility to keep Dhaka afloat with Zazai, but both of them felt in two deliveries in succession by Paul Stirling. Zazai was dismissed for 57 off 36 balls. He hit three fours and five sixes.
Dhaka posted 147 in 15 overs. In the last five overs, the struck more 45 runs losing six wickets overall.
David Wiese and Paul Stirling took two wickets each for Khulna, while Ali Khan and Mahmudullah Riyad took one wicket each.
Khulna need to score at an average of 9.65 to find their first win in the new season of BPL.
