Women’s Hockey: Bangladesh in losing track for 4th consecutive matches against SAI Academy

Dhaka, Aug 25 (UNB) - Bangladesh Women’s Hockey team is in the losing track for the 4th successive matches conceding 3-9 goals defeat against touring Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) National Academy Women’s Hockey team in their 4th match of the six-match friendly series at the MaulanaBhasani Hockey Stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh U-21 Women’s Hockey team, now preparing for their maiden participation in the Women’s Junior (U-21) AHF Cup Hockey Qualifiers in Singapore from September 9–15, was trailing by 0-4 goal in the first half of the day’s match.
Nadia struck twice in the 44th and 57th minutes respectively while Farida AkterRatri scored the other goal for Bangladesh in the 33rd minute.
The 5th match will be held on Monday (August 26) at 7 pm and the 6th and last match on Wednesday (August 28) at 4 pm, both at the MaulanaBhasani National Stadium here.
Earlier, Bangladesh Women’s Hockey team conceded 0-6 goal defeat in their first two matches and conceded 0-3 goals defeat in the 3rd match last Friday against the visiting Indian team at the same venue.
A 20-member SAI National Academy Women’s Hockey team arrived Dhaka last Monday to play six friendly matches with Bangladesh women’s hockey team.
