Chuadanga, Jan 23 (UNB) – Members of Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 6 gold bars weighing 700 gram from Nastipur border in Damurhuda upazila on Wednesday noon.
Imam Hasan, director of Chuadanga BGB-6 Battalion, said being tipped off over gold smuggling to India, a team of BGB conducted a drive along main border pillar no 80 and challenged a young man around 12:30pm.
Sensing danger, the youth fled the scene leaving a packet wrapped with a paper.
Later, the BGB members recovered the gold bars worth Tk 25 lakh from the packet.
